I once dated someone whose ex had the same name as me. I felt like this was an unfair advantage.
I would love it if everyone I ever dated had the same name... although I'd probably have to refer to them with numbers. Then I'd call them by the wrong number! So I guess there are no shortcuts in life.
Luckily, neither Mrs. Bee or I have ever called each other by the wrong name. Phew!
Have you ever called your SO by the wrong name, or vice versa? How did the situation get resolved?

Nope. But sometimes I call LO by my dogs name. Or I'll call my LO her cousin's name.

Um. Yeah. When we were first married, I called DH the wrong name. HAHAHAHA He wasn't happy!
I've called DH my dog's name too. Yikes!

I was not a fan. She would literally go through the names of everyone in the family, then all of our dogs, and then pause. I wonder if she was messing with me.

Now I call her by her Korean name.
My mom occasionally will call LO Bentley though. Pooch lives at home with the fam.

OMG, my husband ALWAYS calls me "Ben" (my BIL's name) or 'Tina" (our friend). It's sooooooooooo weird!

My dad tends to call all of us by the wrong name. My sister once called him and said, "Hi dad." And he said, "Joy?" Joy is his sister. Why would his sister say, "Hi dad"?

@artbee: @chopsuey119: So, hubs usually calls me by the first three letters of my name but he's so used to barking out "Ben! Ben!" to his brother that when DH is trying to yell for my attention he accidentally calls out BIL's name. As for Tina? No clue. It happens so often that I don't even question it anymore.

@Rubies: I don't think P's ever called me by anyone else's name. Shiz. I'd probably nag him to death if he ever called me some other girl's name. Traumatize him into never doing it again.

I get everyone's name wrong all the time.
Especially frequent: I am telling a story, and transpose the subject of the story and the person I'm telling it to. My husband understands, so he doesn't take it personally.

I call DH by our dog's name a lot, and call the dog DH's name too. It's kind of embarrassing and I always feel bad!!!!!

I've mixed up my DH and my brother's names before, haha. Usually when talking about video games or something else they both have in common, haha. I don't have any previous boyfriends though, so DH is lucky in that regard. And he's never called me by his ex's name, so no one's gotten in trouble for messing up names.

I have occasionally referred to my DH and the dog by the others' name. I have never called DH the name of an ex or friend or anything like that though!
DH never gets my name wrong though.

Yes, just this morning I accidentally called my husband by my father's name. In my defense, they both start with the same constanant/vowel combination.

Haha, I think I have called him my brothers names before. Or have I called my brothers his name before. Who knows, but mistakes were made!
On that note, I use his name all the time, but he rarely says my name to me.

I've called DH my nephew's name before when we're visiting them. Their names only differ by 1 letter, which seems like a valid reason in my mind, but seems far less legitimate now that I'm reading it...oops...
