Crazy!
So far I haven't had a reaction to anything..!

@Mrs. Bee: Melaleuca Renew Intensive Skin Therapy. It's pricey, but I get it through my MIL who has a friend that sells the product line.

All lotions I've tried make my legs burn and get all red and splotchy so I don't use much lotion.

@IRunForFun: That's really interesting, thank you for sharing! I've definitely noticed the clear liquid oozy liquid...I always thought of it like they were sweating. I almost always have a reaction to them, but it's entirely possible that I'm just buying not fully ripe ones (I'm not sure how to tell? I should google that...)

@lovehoneybee: It's also entirely possible that some people really are allergic, but I thought it was interesting that SO MANY people seemed to be having the same reaction! I'm not entirely sure how to tell if it's ripe, other than testing the ooze level, LOL. You'd think I'd have read up on that part too...

ETA: Apparently the skin shouldn't be shiny, no visible green stripes, solid and heavy, but hollow-sounding when tapped.

And the answer the original question...I had a horrible reaction to retinol. Never again.

Food yes, but not to products! That sound so painful.

Yeah, I can't remember what it was though now... Some sort of cheap scented lotion.

I always patch test on me and LO now before committing to slathering my entire body in a new lotion.

@T-Mom: What I have noticed is that a combination of products I use can be irritating when used together, but not when used separately. It's easy to figure out when the only thing that has changed is the addition/replacement of one product (say, a new foundation), but a little more difficult when other products are changed too (like, an eye cream and new foundation,. etc.). Not that I am suggesting that you use your face as an experiment, mind you! Just that maybe it is two ingredients that don't work well together, as opposed to the products themselves (if that makes sense).

@MsLipGloss: actually that's true... The day I had the reaction, I had the Laura mercier primer, bb cream, bronzer, and blush on at sephora, and they were all brand new to me! I just figured it was the primer since it was sitting on my face the longest, but I ended up returning both that and the bb cream. It definitely could have been a combo like you say..

Never an allergic reaction, but I do have very sensitive skin. I've used products to wash my face before that are just too harsh (w/ various anti acne acids, even natural ones). They made my skin feel raw and sting after a few days. I only use cetaphil extra gentle now!

Everything... Changed to costco laundry detergent and had a head to toe reaction ugh ears should never be that itchy. As a kid we had to bring our own blankets and pillows to hotels because the hotel ones caused reactions.

I've been able to use aveeno products okay but I always do a spot check. I hate itching and I don't find allergy meds really help with skin reactions.

Bath and body aromatherapy lotions always make me have little red bumps on my palms.

I have all kinds of issues with makeup and facial moisturizers in general, but I know my #1 issue is with SPF products. I can't wear any makeup or lotion that has sunblock in it. I can only use natural sunblocks in my face.

If I get sunscreen on my lips, they swell up and get inflamed. I also got bumps from oil of olay night cream and had a eczema flare up from shiseido night cream. I think they were too highly fragrant.

my sister gave me some cocoa butter warning me to start early on my belly to avoid stretch marks and suddenly my belly has been red and itchy! So I stopped.
Going to ask my dr. at my next appointment, but until then I'm using only Cetaphil!

@rachiecakes: I reacted to a shampoo/conditioner once . . . it was Revlon's Flex. I was under the influence of Cindy Crawford!

I am allergic to most conventional laundry detergents, anything from the healing garden, and quite a few lotions. I finally found a few things I can use and my skin is so much happier.
