Never heard of it

Lived in the Bay Area for almost a decade so everyone has heard of it there. But I wouldn't really expect anyone outside of CA or maybe NV to really know about it unless they are ingrained in the marijuana culture or economy.

When I read "humboldt," I thought "cheese" because of humboldt fog. Which is apparently made there according to Google. But I didn't know it was a place in CA or about the weed stuff. I just like cheese

Of course! I have spent time there, know friends there, and lots that moved there. I thought everyone knew. It is a beautiful place and popular destination.

It's not just about weed. Haven't you heard of Redwoods National and State Park?

I've heard of it. Honestly, it's a little obnoxious to assume everyone knows and to give them a hard time if they don't.

I assume most people have heard of Portland, Ore. But would not expect anyone to know if I were traveling abroad. ETA I guess he knows you are from the US, but still.

I grew up in Del Norte County which is located between Humboldt and the Oregon border, so yes. The home is that they are part of the green belt (3 counties known for weed production).

The only reason why I've heard about Humboldt Country is because I took a course in Natural Disasters in college - it sits on an active fault line. There were a lot of earthquakes that happened up there.

My ex-boyfriend (a hippie stoner) wears a sweatshirt that says Humboldt on it. I asked him about it one time. That's the only reason I know anything about it.

Yes, because I live in CA. I wouldn't expect anyone who isn't from here (or isn't 420-friendly) to be familiar with it.
