The grocery thread had me wondering! There are three Piggly Wigglys in my area but none in my town so I don't shop there. We do go to the pig when we go to HHI though! They are still big in SC.

I haven't....we always pass one on our way to the lake in a neighboring state & it still makes me giggle like a 7 year old each time. Same goes for the gas station named "Slip In."

I have not, but my husband grew up going there and his pig loyalty cracks me up! Also, we have two Piggly Wiggly cloth grocery bags and I get a comment on them almost every time we use them at the store.

When I was growing up I spent a ton of time at my grandmother's, and she had one within walking distance so we went a lot. Now the closest one is in a fairly sketchy area of town, so I wouldn't feel comfortable stopping there. I kinda wish there were more, just for sentimental reasons!

@Smurfette: Wow!! there are a few in NW GA (the closest to me is Rome) and there is one in Athens, if you ever decide to go down memory lane!
The shirt I have says "what happens at the pig stays at the pig." I also have a onesie for LO that said Piggly on the front and wiggly on the back with a pig tushie, lol! Both came from HHI.
My ex boyfriend's aunt used to work for Piggly wiggly corporate and they had some sort of pig bucks that customers could get and redeem the bucks for prizes. This ex's aunt gave him a ton and he used the 'bucks' to furnish his dorm room!

@Torchwood: when I was a kid they were in decent parts of town...now, not so much! The ones at the beaches in SC are super nice though! With Starbucks inside like a "real" grocery store, lol!

There's one in my parent's neighborhood. I used to shop at it all the time until other grocery stores popped up in the area.

Nope! We saw one when we were in Hilton Head but BIL said Publix was better so we shopped there instead for the week

We have started shopping at the Bi-Lo on HHI. I think it is a lot cheaper than the pig. But we usually stay on that side of the island, so it makes sense.

Yes. Not for a long time, though. I have also shopped at a Jitney Jungle. Yeah.

The last one in my area got bought out by another chain just last year. But I did go to it when something good was on sale.

I've only been to one, and it was definitely sketchy. It was in Memphis when we visited my grandma (probably around 1997). When we went later, we went to a different store, but I can't remember the name.

Yes, I used to live in KY and we shopped there. I remember winning $10 bucks in an Easter egg hunt there when I was small!
