I had my every 2 week appt scheduled for last Friday but I cancelled. 
haha
I didn't feel like driving 40 mins round trip just to have my belly measured and to hear the baby's heartbeat. 
I'm 33 weeks now and I'm tempted to not see my ob until my 36 week appt. I'm such a bad patient.

haha, I've never skipped but also didn't live that far away so it wasn't a big deal to go. I agree how they can be so pointless sometimes!

Never. I like the peace of mind of getting checked out. But my doctor is also 5 minutes away from my office.

I can definitely see where there's getting close together and you have to go ALL THE TIME, where it'd be tempting to skip! My OB office is 5 minutes away though, so I'll probably go to all of them since it's not that inconvenient.

I liked the break from work, but other than that, I didn't really need to go either. 1.5 hours in a waiting room for 10 minutes of Dr time.

i never thought about skipping them for 2 reasons. First i am way too paranoid and it was always a relief to hear the baby's heartbeat and just have my doc tell me everything is okay. And second, it was never an inconvenience to go. My doctor's office is an 8 minute walk from where i live and i never waited to be seen more than 15 minutes tops, usually less. I can understand it would be frustrating to drive 40 minutes somewhere, have to wait a long time to be seen, all for a 10 minute appointment.

Never...even when i had to wait hours! I just needed that peace of mind to hear her heartbeat on the doppler, even when i was well into my third trimester.

3x mom here and haven't ever skipped. Especially towards the end when they are looking for growth measurements and signs of pre-e.
I would ask and see what they would think of you coming in every 3 weeks (instead of 2 ) and then maybe every week and a half instead of every week. See what your MD is comfortable with, your drive is pretty long.

No...but we've rescheduled a lot, so I've probably missed out on two or three appointments because they keep getting pushed back. I don't think it's a big deal if you and the pregnancy are healthy/normal. You can always call or email if you have a concern.

Not so far! I'm pretty anxious so they ease my mind, even though sometimes it seems like I drove all the way out there and waited a half an hour for a few minutes with the dr.

i've never skipped (29w) but during the holidays, i will definitely not have as many as once a week because i'll be home visiting my family. i already told my doc and will try to schedule so they are still close together, but not 7 days. it's not inconvenient for me as it's about 15 minutes drive and i don't have to wait long to see the OB.

Yes I skipped one towards the end too.
It was something in the 30's.
Actually my OBGYN had to reschedule and it was going to be for a Friday and then I had my next appointment that following Tuesday.. I just requested we skip the week since everything had been okay so far and I felt good.
They were okay with it.

I never skipped them, I actually looked forward to seeing how much I grew, to make sure everything was ok and to hear the baby's heartbeat. It eased my mind knowing everything looked/sounded/felt ok.

Haah okay so I'm the only bad patient here I always looked forward to ob appts when I was pregnant with Lo.. Now I'm over them.
As long as I can feel him moving I'm all good.
I'll call my ob's office back and reschedule the appt I skipped ... :T

No I went to every single one. I liked the reassurance of hearing the heartbeat. Goodthing too because I had complications and needed to be induced and I wouldnt have known that if I had skipped

I only ever skipped one, and it was because I was in the PETU at the hospital having contractions. Otherwise, nope, I've been to every single one. And all my ultrasounds. But I live less than 10 minutes from both locations, so not a big deal.

I never did, but I had a high risk pregnancy, and at the end was going to 2-3 appointments per week, but because of my complications it was extremely important to keep a close eye on things. Also, my OB is about 5 minutes away from my house, and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I can see how it would be tempting to skip in an uncomplicated pregnancy, when you have a long drive though.

Yes! I was told to go in twice a week in the last two months, but I knew everything was fine and I didn't understand why I needed all that monitoring, and so I may have told a white lie once or twice and told them I'd be "out of town"... so I ended up going once every other week instead.

I always went to my appts, I would feel too guilty if I skipped one.
