I grew up on the East Coast, and went to college there too... but after college, I lived for a year or two in the Bay Area. In the end, I found out that I'm more of an East Coaster... didn't realize how much so until I found myself missing it!

I lived in 8 places in 12 years. At one point, we moved from Maryland to California. BIG change! (and then we moved from California to Florida)

not coasts, but I grew up in the Midwest (unless you consider the Great Lakes a coast! 
) and have lived on the East Coast since college. I think I'd prefer to live in the Midwest in the long-term, but I'm here for professional reasons and won't have too much choice in where we end up eventually anyway because of the job market in my field

I grew up in the Bay Area, but much as I love CA, I always felt like an East Coast person. Moved east 10 years ago and never looked back.

East coaster here... When I was in the mid twenties, my best friend said if I wasn't going to find a husband there I had better move to the west coast. Well, I found DH so I stayed!

Yes - I've lived in all 4 "corners" (WA, CA, ME and FL). My personality is more east coast. FL was just crazy.

I lived close to the Gulf coast (by way of New Orleans) and am now in the mid-Atlantic (Central PA).

I've never left the West. So, I can't imagine I'd be comfortable living on the East Coast. For one, the weather. I don't do snow. lol And for two, I'm used to things being spread out and having a car. I don't think I'd do public transportation really well. I tend to get claustrophobic when I'm surrounded by a lot of people. I know the whole coast isn't that way, but I like the desert

I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains in CA, so sort of Bay Area. I currently live in Maryland. I still feel like a CA girl at heart, but MD is a pretty good fit.

I grew up in various places in the Midwest, moved to San Diego after college and now live on the East Coast. I love the East Coast but feel more at home in California. If I could only afford to live there (and convince DH to move) again!!

Lived in PA until from birth to 25. Then I took a job in Seattle. Been in Seattle for over 5 years now. My DH and I are definitely east coasters. He was also born and raised in PA and we definitely see a difference. We will definitely end up back on the east coast.

Yes! Born and raised in MA. Went to college out of the country and loved it. After college moved to CA for a little over a year. Both San Diego and San Francisco but I just missed being home too much.

@mrbee: Sounds just like me! I'm an East Coaster (grew up and went to college here) and then lived for 3 years time in the South (GA) and then made my way to the Bay Area for a few years too.
I'm back again on the East Coast. I truly feel like I left my heart in San Francsico some days
