You know what I'm talking about. We've never done it because we can't coordinate everyone well enough.
Not including weddings!

I voted 'yes' although for us it was jeans and white shirts... in the peak of my 'awkward' teenage years. *cringe*
My parents have it framed in their house...

@mediagirl: Didn't realize this was a thing!!
Never done it, I don't think I own khakis...

@thismustbetheplace: awww. Isn't it sweet when our parents frame our most hideous photos?

@lilteacherbee: ha! Maybe it IS an NC thing, then! But I swear I've seen it a lot with my friends in Maryland, as well.

I had my mom take one of me and DS at the beach like this when he was 2 - I loved it!!

Nope, but I've seen a family do it when they did their family vaca in Hawaii last year.

Not exactly...we did family photos for my husband's parents and grandmother a few years back, though...everyone wore jeans, all the boys (adults and kids) wore white button down shirts and me and my SsIL wore black tees. I was like 33 weeks pregnant so they were trying to put something together really easy for me

we did this when I was in high school. except, my grandma rebelled against my aunt's dresscode, and my only white shirt had a blue stripe, so my aunt was po'd, haha.

Nope, but I've seen it done a ton. I do think it's a 90s thing. I don't even own khaki pants.

As a photographer I'm not a fan, too much white all blobbed together lacking texture/contrast. I think others are right it looks like it's from the 90s. I had a family do it then the following year I sent some outfit ideas- big improvement.

@mrbee: oh, it's definitely a thing! Here in VA near the beach its a major thing. I've never been a part of one, though.
@mediagirl: ugh...my mom carries one of my most hideous photos in her wallet...8th grade bangs, braces and all. She says she loves it. *shudder*

Nope. My family is too pale for white shirts to work. And DH is black so it's hard enough to get both of us looking ok in photos without throwing in white shirts.

I don't own khakis, but when I was a kid we did white shirts and jeans

White shirts and jeans! It was 2006 or so, I think. My parents still have it framed at their house too, but I don't mind because I was so dang skinny back then!

Nope, but I definitely saw it a lot on the beach in the 90s/early 2000s. I had a hard enough time convincing my family to coordinate for family pictures when the color scheme was blue/khaki/grey/white/black/denim - getting them to wear all white and khaki would be darn near impossible even if we wanted that look.

Haahhahaah! No! But I know what you're talking about and know multiple people who have!

@thismustbetheplace: hahaha yes we did jeans and white shirts too. Also in the awkward years.

@mediagirl: I haven't but one of my friends did with her family - and they were in NC! lol

YES! For my parents 40th wedding anniversary a little over 4 years ago. My siblings and I were all dying!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@JoJoGirl: I better delete this as it's going to end up on awkward family photos, I'm sure ; )

@winniebee: No, it won't - you're all gorgeous. It's just sort of amazing.

I was really hoping there would be more photos on this thread.
No we haven't done this.

We've done white shirts with jeans - and only 2 years ago for extended family photos! I tried to talk them out of it to no avail. I actually see the white shirt/jeans a lot.

On of the tax partners in Big 4 had a pic in his office of his entire family in jeans and white turtlenecks. I couldn't walk in his office without giggling.
