due to pregnancy?
Due to my EDD, I had to step down from one of my BFF/BM's wedding (6 weeks pp out of state)
DS had to step down from being a ring bearer/we can't attend another good friend's wedding. (1 week pp out of state/country).
I'm really sad to be missing both events. But I guess such is life. Both friends were extremely understanding and gracious. (which makes me feel even more guilty).

I had to miss my aunt's wedding. It was in MN, three days after Christmas, and in the height of flu season. No way was I taking my 12-week-old on a plane in those conditions!

No, we didn't miss anything with DD1, and I think we should be okay with DD2. We have a wedding about 1 1/2 months after she's born that's a 3 hour drive, that could be interesting. I'm not sure if we will just go to the ceremony and reception to eat and then head directly home. I don't' want to deal with a hotel + 2 year old and newborn.

No, we travelled three times for weddings when DS was young. The farthest we went was to Europe when DS was 2 months! I was a bridesmaid. I had an easy recovery and I didn't think twice about it (except for the money, but we made it work).

LO was born on the east coast 3 days before a wedding that I was supposed to be a bridesmaid in that was in CA--I was so bummed to have to miss it, but my dear friend (who was my moh!) was so understanding

No, but I wish I could have bowed out of being MOH at my sister's wedding this summer at 6 weeks PP. I was still so bloated and huge looking and uncomfortable in my dress.

Dds due date was the same day as sil was supposed to get married. She called off the wedding 2 month prior so it wasn't an issue!

We skipped Christmas with the out of state in-laws. Just didn't feel up to a 6 hour car ride in December while 36 weeks pregnant.

My good friend from law school is getting married July 11. My EDD is June 26. I want to go so badly, I don't care how bad I look! I'm going to have to wait and see though.

I missed a wedding that was cross country two months after c was born. It wasn't a best friend or anything and I did not feel like taking a two month old across the country, and bringing her to a loud, evening wedding or leaving her with a babysitter. We knew well in advance and DH went solo.
I did miss one of my little sisters bridal showers, which I was bummed about, but I just couldn't handle the drive and the baby. I went to her other one so it was ok. And I did her bachelorette party but drive home that night while everyone else slept over in a hotel.

@QBbride: I think it depends when LO actually arrives. If she's late, it's not an option. If she's early, it could happen. I'll have to ask my friend when she needs to have a head count in.

We missed a wedding that was a week before my due date since it would have been a 3+ hour drive. We aren't super close with the couple but enough that it would have been nice to be there.

One of my husband's good friends is getting married a six-hour drive from where we live eight days before I am due. He will be flying there and back same day while I cross my fingers baby doesn't come eight days early!

I missed being in a close friend's, out of state wedding when my kids and I were really sick. I would have just gone anyway and dealt if it was just me, but my EBF baby who wouldn't take a bottle, was scheduled to come, and I wasn't going to put my sick baby on a plane, or leave her.

I'm due next summer two weeks before the family camp we go to, so we won't be going. We were waitlisted anyway, so that makes it easier.

The closest I've come so far is needing to make weird choices about continuing education conferences. The ones in my field overwhelmingly happen within 6-7 weeks +/- my EDD, and none of them happen to be local this year. So, instead I'm going to be going to be going to something that's local but relatively tangential to my speciality at about 3mos post partum.

Just got a Save the date for one of my bridesmaid's wedding. It will be when I'm 38 weeks. Sad I'm missing it, but there is no way I can travel 5-6 hours on a plane to go to the wedding.
I will, also, be missing a wedding when I'm 34 weeks. It's another wedding with a 5-6 hour flight. DH will be going since he is in the wedding party.

I had to cancel my own baby shower because it was a flight away where both our families live, and once I started having preterm contractions, my doc wouldn't let me fly any more.

Yes we missed a close friends wedding that was 3 1/2 hours away- we would have had to drive thru snow. It was 3 weeks before my due date. I ended up having an emergency induction 2 weeks later.

Not yet but probably will happen in the future. My BFF will probably get married next summer and I will probably have a newborn or be pregnant at the time. I'm determined to make it. She said she will plan the date around my uterus. Hahaha

We haven't had any big events come up, but I have missed lots of girls nights and book clubs because I am so tired and the nausea really gets to me at night.

I was supposed to shoot a friend's wedding but wound up being 36 weeks pregnant (and it was half a country away anyways) so that was a no go. And I missed two out of town weddings due to not wanting to travel cross country with a baby.

I missed a friend's wedding because I was 5 days PP with my first. My recovery with her was a bit rough, otherwise I would have been there!

I missed a wedding for a couple I had set up! I was about 34 weeks so it wouldn't have been possible, but not ideal. I also had a low lying placenta and my Ob said she did not recommend unnecessary travel.

I'm a BM in my BFs wedding when I will be 38 weeks. The wedding is 3 hours away...I'm mildly nervous about missing it but really really am planning on being there as long as I'm not mid-labor !

I had to miss my BIL's wedding. DH also missed it because I had high risk pregnancy and we needed to take 18 hour flight, so we missed it.

I missed a good friend's wedding across the country when I was 32 weeks. I technically could have gone but I was nervous and my doc told me it would be uncomfortable to be on the plane for that long, round trip, within a 3 day period. So while she couldn't say don't go, she advised against it.
