We are going to get our lo a high chair for her baby and some feeding supplies. She is very into babies now and likes to have her baby sit at the table with us. I think it will be the perfect gift this year.

I bought DS a lego set and that's about it!
I need to get them to make a list - maybe walk around Target and see what they like - I have no clue this year!

I've already gotten him some Magna-Tiles (from "baby sister"), and a bunch of Hot Wheels with a carrying case. And something else that is escaping me, and we'll get him some books and clothes.
I'm due on Christmas Eve, so I'm trying to get shopping down now.

Nope, no clue. His bday is next month and we don't have a clue for that either!

I've started making lists:
DD1: a Land of Nod chair is her Santa gift (I like the shape better than PB), doll playpen, clothes, and movies.
DD2: Land of Nod chair (Santa), renewing our zoo/museum membership from us, and then probably some little teething toys and a movie or two to open (8 months old so doesn't really "get" it)
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope! He's really into cars and airplanes, but has a few of those already.

I have two of four gifts purchased. We do want, need, wear, read. I need to work on need and wear. He's getting a duplo set that builds cars and a bedtime bible story book so far.

@mediagirl: In the Target American Girl doll stuff they have one that screws on the table. My cousin's girls have them and love them. Portable and she can sit next to her doll.
We have a couple things bought for her sticker set, Magic Clips set, and sunglasses (stocking). But not sure what else we are going to get her.
pomelo / 5573 posts
We got him a play kitchen, so we're going to get some pots and pans and toy food to go with it, then probably a few trucks and books for little presents and stocking.

I don't have many good ideas for Christmas or for R's first birthday, which is early December.
pear / 1837 posts
Want: Melissa and Doug cars- even though they're made for babies, she wants them.
Need: Planetbox lunchbox
Wear: A couple of new tutus
Read: Got a huge stack of books at a consignment sale.
Will also do a few small items from Santa. Trying to scale back this year.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Yep - I have Christmas all figured out. I wanted to figure it out early so that I knew what ideas to NOT share with family for Logan's upcoming birthday. I haven't purchased everything yet, but I know what we're getting both kids.
honeydew / 7622 posts
@LulaBee: we are doing the four gifts too and will follow the guidelines when she's a little older. She will never know though
So far I bought:
The everything book- but I may hold onto it until next year
A play phone
HA PJs
Her birthday is in early March so Christmas overflow will become birthday gifts
I saw the little people barn at Costco.

@LulaBee: We do the want/need/wear/read too!
Want: Kindle Kids
Need: Winter Gear (snow suit)
Wear: Christmas Jammies, Maybe a fun new dress
Read: Books I have been stocking up on all year
I follow this for my nieces and nephews too!

He's definitely getting a strider bike and a play kitchen. But his birthday is 3 days after Christmas so we'll give him the kitchen for Christmas and the bike for his birthday. He'll also be getting some books, maybe a lego set, puzzles and more cars/trucks/train accessories.

@Mrs D: @youboots: - we've never done it before, but with a baby coming a month before Christmas, we need to scale back. I'm excited about it though!
honeydew / 7622 posts
@LulaBee: when I was a nanny for a five year old his parents gave him a stack of presents like 30 and mentioned to me they were bummed he was not excited. Dude was just tired from opening gifts. And wanted to play with what was there. I promised myself I would go small with Christmas when I had children. I think want/need/wear/read helps manage the urge to overdo it.

I want to get her another Hazel Village animal and more dress up clothes for Chanukah. We have one now and a few outfits, and she likes it a lot, but it's a toy she will sort of grow into more (it's hard for her to put the clothes on herself at 18 months, she just kind of tells me what to do, like, "off!" and "shoes!" haha)
If our parents ask for suggestions, we're going to ask for magnatiles

I think bikes this year! I didn't want to do bikes for Christmas since there's always too much snow to actually use them right away, but we've cleaned out our garage so I'm hoping we can move the cars and let them ride in there if the snow is too much.

Santa is going to bring her some clothes. Mom is getting her a Land of Nod chair (the one she got last year from Walmart is falling apart already after a year of hard use). No idea what Daddy wants to get her.

My LO will only be about 6 weeks old, so he's getting zutano booties and some super cute bibs that are too expensive to justify otherwise

We're pretty much done. Well, I still have to purchase, but I know what we're getting:
Want: balance bike
Need: not sure on this one yet... trying to think of something he'll "need" for when Baby Sister arrives in February. Open to suggestions???
Wear: apron to help me cook in the kitchen and a Goose shirt from Wire and Honey (to match the Maverick shirt I'm getting Hubs)
Read: books I've gotten from daycare's Scholastic sales
pomegranate / 3604 posts
We follow play/read/wear & they also get VERY spoiled by grandparents etc so we keep it quite small.
- matching pjs
- bath toys for lo2
- movie for lo1
- and 1 book each; probably something sports related for lo1 and a board book for lo2.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
Bear in mind, he is 4 months old now so I am "projecting"
Want-- Zany Zoo
Need-- skip hop hedgehog backpack for daycare
Wear-- havent gotten that yet-- waiting to see what size he'll be
Read-- Richard Scarry "What Do People Do All Day?"

Have not even though about it since her bday is also in Dec so I'm just trying to plan that!
grapefruit / 4085 posts
Yes and her bday is 2 weeks before Xmas. We're getting her a bike, toy guitar, Cinderella dress, more play food, some books and maybe some other small items. It's hard when it all comes at once and I have to figure out how to divvy up!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I have no clue! She'll be 2 months old. I want to have a little something in her stocking and a gift from Santa and one from us under the tree.

I know I will be getting them the games Candyland and Pretty Pretty Princess for them to share.
Some Dino Dan DVDs for DD2, and a locket for DD1.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
Is it bad that I have no desire to buy them more toys. There isn't anything they really want either. And I can't think of anything that wouldn't be a guaranteed flop. We are for sure limiting to 1 Something you Want, 2 Something you need, 3, Something to Wear, and 4 something to Read. I for sure can find something to wear and something to read but they really dont need or want anything.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
E's for sure getting a shockproof tablet holder. Otherwise.....not sure what to get them! I'll probably order them gifts a week before Christmas, after everyone else has asked for their list.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
He has made it very clear to me what he wants for Christmas: the Paw patrol cruisers with their dogs. Each one is about $10-$12 on amazon, and there are seven of them. He won't get all seven from us, but my SIL asked what he wanted for Christmas, so I think she may get him one or two as well.
nectarine / 2834 posts
I don't think there will be any big ticket items this year. DD1 will probably get some small things for "want", i.e. a "pony to sleep with, sofia duplos" and books. We'll get DD2 a few little baby toys or some new bowls, baby snacks from "Santa" so DD1 doesn't think he left her out. We don't buy much for the girls because DD1 and DD2 are the only grandkids on both sides with 5 sets of aunts/uncles (and great aunts/uncles) who seem to have gifts for them every time we see them.
coconut / 8483 posts
Not sure. We tried to stick to want need wear read plus stocking last year. So far my ideas are:
Want: a box full of balls
Need: little table and chairs maybe? For new playroom
Wear: Christmas PJs
Read: animal books. Obsessed

@T.H.O.U.: nope. My lo's wishlist has a LOT of books on it and very few toys.

Our sauna is full of toys I've hoarded away or accumulated for Advent. Plus, she has whole box of toys from my mom for Christmas. I don't think we're getting her anything more.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I googled Pretty Pretty Princess because my DD loves princesses and all things frilly - that game is $104 on amazon - what???
Where did you buy it at?
