I heard one yesterday at Kohl's. I was exhausted and I was taking a breather on an ottoman pouf in the home area when a woman told me "just you wait" until that baby comes out...you will regret having 2 kids! LOL, thanks!

Constantly. I haven't been sleeping well and honestly, I look like I have two black eyes most of the time, the bags under my eyes are just that big and ugly. And if I say anything, people jump all over me and tell me to just wait until the baby's here, then you'll really know what sleep deprivation is!

Wow, that is so rude. Pregnancy and actually having children are such different experiences - you can hardly compare the two. That's just awful!

I had one today but it was from a good place. I am running training courses for my organisations staff all over the country over the next few months. Today, a manger asked me for more dates for his team and asked if I was sure I could still do all the travelling. I was super cheery and said I would be happy to (even though I'd really struggled lugging all my equipment etc in) and he said "hmm.... maybe I will ask you in a few weeks. Just you wait, you won't be quite so cheerful then!".

I'm still in be 1st trimester, but have already heard a couple of "just you wait" comments. It's part "I know people" and part "can't wait - yikes!". Thing is, you never know until you LO is here! Maybe they had a rough first few months, but maybe you'll be lucky and have an easy first few months or vice versa. I try to take comments with a grain of salt, and if I can't, I fake a smile and vent to the hubby. Ha!

@autumnlove: Um... what was her point? You'll regret having the kid still in your stomach?? That's extra extra rude I think.
I haven't really had anything yet, though I only just started showing and telling people. People will say positive things-- like oh just wait until you can feel it kick, but i haven't had any ominous 'just you wait's.

@Foodnerd81: I think her point was my child spacing was crazy....she saw my active 1 year old and my pregnant belly. She told me that her kids were spaced 9 years apart..blah, blah!

@autumnlove: It would be one (still rude) thing to say that if you mentioned you wanted to try for another one right away but weren't pregnant, but to say it when it's obviously much too late to reconsider is just mean. Should have said you'll be able to teach them both manners at the same time, being so close.
I admit I did once ask my friend if she was crazy when she was talking about child spacing-- but it's because she asked about it at her 6 week pp appointment!

All the time. The worst part is when someone says 'well you should have thought about that before...' It's like, lighten up people!

Yes, I've gotten a lot of "You think you're tired now?? Wait til baby comes!" I'm sorry, but I work full-time, I'm in grad school, and pregnancy has completely sapped my energy and given me insomnia. LET ME B**** ABOUT IT. jeez. /endrant.

YES. "Sleep while you can" comments are the worst. Because (1), do you remember how easy it is to sleep toward the end of pregnancy?! And (2), are you implying that I'm totally unaware of infant sleep habits? And, I suppose, (3) have you found some kind of magical sleep bank?! Because then I will listen to you. Otherwise, I'm pregnant over here, but not stupid. Thanks.

Ugh. That's annoying! I hate those "just you wait comments". Although I'm sure I've said them to others in the past unknowingly. yikes!

I'm not obviously pregnant yet, but when we tell someone who doesn't know us they start giving us advice or the just you wait comments. It's so funny to nod and go along then look at them and say yeah, between the 2 of us this is #5!!! Take that!
