We're having a date night tomorrow (well, a day date since we don't have a babysitter)... and were considering catching an early afternoon flick!
We usually see action movies in the theater, so this time I was thinking we'd change things up. Here are the movies we've been eying over the past few months, along with their Rotten Tomatoes rating:
* Boyhood (99%)
* Birdman (94%)
* Dear White People (91%)
* The Theory of Everything (76%)
Have you seen any of these movies? Any recommendations?

I've seen the trailer to Birdman and Dear White People. Ugh, this is hard because Michael Keaton hasn't been on the scenein a minute. But, DWP trailer was so funny my husband and I Googled the cast.
Oh and throw in Boyhood with Ethan Hawke. Hard decision.
I dunno, if I was picking the movie it would be DWP, if Mr. Lime picked it would be Birdman.

No, but Boyhood is on our list. Adam Savage RAVED about it in one of his podcasts.

I find that movies that will likely be nominated for oscars just aren't my jam. A friend saw birdman and said the acting was amazing but it was pretty plotless and very boring. The theory of everything is on my list though! I haven't heard about boyhood.

@mrbee: Not on your list, but what about INTERSTELLAR?!?!? Dying to see that over here, and it's directed by Christopher Nolan!!!

I haven't seen any of this, but my sister saw Boyhood and said it was really good, esp how they filmed the actors over I think an 11 year period so they actually grow up as themselves as in the film!

Haven't seen any of them! But agree with PPs that Interstellar is on our list...I know the ratings look iffy, but I really like Christopher Nolan and Anne Hathaway, so I'll give it a chance! May be our first post-baby date night outing this time around.

I haven't seen any of these, but my brother who is a HUGE film buff (and works in the industry) RAVED about Boyhood!!
