We haven't had a chance to yet, but we're going early Saturday morning this weekend! If it turns out to packed, we're going to go during the week next week!

We went on Saturday. We got a pretty decent picture and neither one of them cried! Success.

We went on Sunday. It turned into a family picture because DS2 got scared on Santa's lap (and I don't like the crying on Santa pictures).

Last year we did. Kind of nervous about this year...

Santa came to a birthday party we were at last weekend and he was not a fan! We'll probably go this weekend. A local shopping center gives a free Santa photo with $25 purchase and we purchased some Christmas gift there.

Twice so far-- first time, we didn't know he was going to be there (a German Christmas bazaar), and the second time we went to the Disney hotel I used to work at. She cried both times.

We went at the end of November and there was no line. Bonus they let us take our own pictures even though it was a mall Santa, I was shocked!

We took both girls. Ellie has been talking up how Santa comes into the house at night, and thinks it's hilarious that she's basically convinced Lorelei that he is a burglar. So when we saw Santa, not only did Lorelei NOT want to sit with him, but she told him, "You not welcome at our house. You may come in the day. You should ring the doorbell. I will NOT sit with you. That's rude." Poor Santa. Of course-- Ellie thought it was hilarious.

@Mrs. Twine: LMAO!!!!

We went yesterday and the line was very short. She cried when we put her in his lap so she sat on my lap and I wasn't visible in the pic so it looks like she's sitting on his lap

No? D is pretty set against mall Santas. But we did have a Santa come to his aunt's house on Thanksgiving, and Santa always comes around on Christmas day to "drop off some gifts (he) forgot". (It's either D or FIL)

Yup! Last Saturday!
@lovehoneybee: Google! many local towns, etc often have free events that include free Santas. I'm not a fan of mall santas either and will not pay $20 for one image.

@locavore_mama: It's not the cost (although yeah, I wouldn't pay for it either...) he's just really uncomfortable putting E on a stranger's lap, even if we're right there!
But I might take him anyway, when he's old enough to understand Santa.

@lovehoneybee: ah, OK. So he's against taking E to a strange Santa in general.

going today! free Santa at our neighborhood community center which is awesome! (although 4-6pm so DH will be at work and I will go with mommy friends.) they give you a free polaroid and your friends can take pics too (I say friends because I will be dealing with the screaming toddler . . . )

Yep! After the picture she just looked at him, like who are you?

We did. It was pretty funny. LO is a super smiley babe and she was just looking at Santa like, 'What the hell is this?' $35 for one 5x7 and the digital image at the mall! Next year we might just hit up a local pancake breakfast - at least you're supporting your fire department that way!
