I have had long hair for most of my life because I have a chubby face. I've colored it every color there is - black, blonde, red, brown. And I've had bangs a number of times, as well as a digital perm. But through it all my hair has remained long.
Now that I'm a mom of two and my hair gets in the way, I think I'm finally ready to make the post baby chop. I'm gonna go for the Gwyneth Paltrow angled bob:
I'm still growing out my bangs, but oh well. I'm itching to chop my hair off.
Have you had the same hairstyle for most of your life? Are you scared to go short like I am?

I've always worn it long and straight!
I've cut my hair short before and it looked hideous on me. Never again!

If long uncombed ponytail counts as style.

I have stick straight hair that won't hold a curl, with a cowlick on my forehead, and when its on the short side, it ALL kinda HALF curls to one side at the very bottom. So I tend to stick with my hair on the long side, always below my shoulders. I've gone pretty short a few times, but as it grows out I remember why I left it long in the first place. Bangs look awful due to above mentioned cowlick.
Every once in a while I'm tempted to chop it off again. The last two times I donated my pony-tale to "Angel Hair for Kids"- which is like "Locks of Love"
And I still haven't indulged in a PWC.

YES. but only because i have to. i have curly, curly hair, and the shorter it gets the more fro-like it becomes. i can't do bangs or any popular styles... it's always just been a long curly mess. i used to pray God would make my hair straight, but now i kind of like my curls.

lately, i always have it in a semi-bun/pony tail. i'd love to chop it off, but my husband is very against it. he doesn't even want me to get a trim.

My hair has changed so much! I used to have it just long and one length but then i finally worked up the courage to go super short and though I liked it, it got boring now im happy to have my hair back. But now I always have layers and get it thinned out every now and then

I've worn it long, straight, with side bangs since high school! I'm 23 now and feel that I need a change but I don't know what to do

I am quite the opposite, I make a major change about every 6 months, and have since I was 20 (so for the past 8 years). I am starting to find a style that I like best, but still change quite a bit within that style (type of bangs, colour, type of highlights). I start to go crazy if my hair looks the same for too long!

I grow my hair long...Then I chop it short and regret it. Repeat.
Long, chop, grow. Long, chop, grow.

I've always (since childhood) worn my hair long. It's quite long, to my waist, and wavy. I haven't dyed it either (it's deep red, dark auburn, whatever you want to call it). I've highlighted it and layered it, but never drastically changed it.
Because I have a round face and my hair fits me, I doubt I will change it anytime soon. I get more complements on my hair then anything else, so why mess with a good thing? It is a lot of work though.

I had the same style for over a decade and then recently cut it all off into a pixie cut. I wasn't sure but I knew I needed a change and took the plunge and am so glad I did.

I like to grow my hair super long so I can chop it off short to donate it. So far I've done that 3 times, and I think I'm going for my 4th now. Hair isn't really that important to me, so I figure I might as well do something useful with it and give it to someone who would appreciate it..

I had a similar cut post-baby #1 after having had mostly long hair all my life too. I loved it and was glad I *really* changed it up finally. I've been back to long hair for a while now though because I missed it alot. I'm going to keep it long for as long as I can because I think as I get older I'll be inclined to keep it on the short side. It's definitely a cute cut though... the wash n go type, perfect for the postpartum months... it's like instant style without doing much... until it grows out, which happens fast!

I had short hair when I was little, but once I got into jr high and high school I grew it out, and it has been long since. I haven't actually cut it in over 4 years! I will get a couple inches here and there, but that is it. I have a chubby face too, so I don't look good in short hair.

I have fine, stick straight hair that doesn't hold curl. I've always worn it layered, not heavily layered, but enough at my shoulders.
For my wedding, I grew my hair out and had an awesome updo. Since my dress was very simple, I wanted my hair to stand out a bit. I had structured curls and waves. The hairstyle was pretty neat. I got a ton of compliments on it. I cut my hair about a month or two later back to its usual length.

I've generally have had the same variation of the same style for years. Shoulder length with long layers and side swept bangs. It's a safety thing for me I guess, however once I did go bob and loved it, to bad it was to much maintence for me!

Since high school I have had my hair at different lengths but always layered with long side swept bangs. I recently let the bangs grow out and don't plan on cutting them again.

@Mrs. Bee: I also had long hair for most of my life and finally bit the bullet for my PWC and doanted over 13 inches. I actually really enjoyed it and my hair grew out fast. It's been a lil over a year and my hair is back to its long length, crazy layers, and I'll be dying it red in a few weeks. It was definitely a big change and I definitely had moments of impatience with the "Growing out" stage. The short hair is definitely a lot of maintenance, but definitely worth a try at least once!

I had some crazy, totally ugly hair styles in middle & high school and finally got my hair past shoulder length and in a decent cut by freshman year of college. It's been six years and it hasn't changed much! I am terrified of short hair again because it was so bad, and since I like "wash and go" hair, there's not a lot of other options...

My hair is to my waist and I wear it down straight or in a ponytail everyday. I am not fancy enough.

My hair color changes fairly frequently but the style doesn't. My hair is a few inches past my shoulders, straight & has a few subtle layers. I have had blunt cut bangs a few times & as much as I love them...I can't stand the constant trimming & blinking my eyes twice as much as normal I'd like my hair to be a few inches longer, below my chest, & to perfect the loose curling iron curls but I stink at doing them

Mine has been the same forever. It's baby fine and soft so too much variation from chin length looks blah. Am totally jealous of all you long haired ladies!
