I never washed our infant car seat and didn't wash our convertible either.
Both are still clean and don't have stains..

I haven't washed the cover to our infant seat and LO is 8 months old as of today. It's actually pretty clean except for the stupid strap covers. I swear, if DS is going to spit up, it's going to be when we put him in his carseat. I've seriously contemplated cutting the covers off and calling it a day...especially since we're buying a convertible seat soon.

I didn't our infant one (just spot cleaned the straps), but i did the others since the cover came off and he got all sorts of crap on it! Now I have our friend do it because he owns a carpet cleaning place and all their stuff is kid safe and dries super fast, so its like having a brand new car seat!

I never had to, but I would if I was going to put it away. Just in case it smelled or something.
