If you had a tear or episiotomy that required stitches, when did the worst of the pain go away? When were you able to sit/stand comfortably, and when did you stop needing ice packs, pain meds, etc?
I know this is so different for everyone - just looking for a little light at the end of the tunnel haha (28 stitches, but only 3 days PP)

I got an episiotomy after 2 hours of pushing a 8.5 lbs baby with a 14inch head!
I took motrin and tylenol3 for 4-5 weeks. (more because i was afraid of not taking them).
I was driving at 2 weeks, but still uncomfortable. Stairs were the dveil. I took a bath every night and i swear it aided in my recoery. at 6 weeks, i felt 100% mobile and pain free.

The first 2-3 weeks were the worst! I don't know how many stitches I had. Tucks were my friend.

You'll feel so much better in a couple of weeks. I'm 5 weeks pp now and I feel totally normal, although very occasionally I notice a "not quite right" feeling down there. It's not pain at this point any more. Just..."different".

I had an episiotomy, but I am not sure how many stitches I got. It didn't take the OB long to stitch me up, so I assume fewer than 10? The first week was the worst for me (especially while I was in the hospital). I am 16 days PP now and stopped taking pain meds a few days ago. I feel SO much better. I also didn't have any hemorrhoids, though, so I think that helped. But I still use the peri bottle--that thing is my BFF.

I think about 2 weeks out, I felt a lot better. I had a pretty bad tear with stitches.

I had bad tears and an episiotomy, but by two weeks PP I felt lots better! Taking a hot bath every night helped tremendously with the soreness.

oh you poor thing. 28 stitches sounds rough. I had a 2nd degree tear and only a couple of stitches and I was in pain for like 4-5 weeks. I tried to do too much the first week and I think that's what prolonged my recovery. Take it easy these first couple of weeks. Don't do a lot of walking. Take a sitz bath at least once a day. I would just fill the bath tub and sit in it for 15 minutes while DH took care of the baby.

I would say by 3-4 weeks pp I stopped feeling discomfort from my stitches.

I have an episiotomy and tearing (38 cm head!!!!), but I'd say by the end of two weeks, I was feeling pretty normal!

I had third degree internal tearing and a bit of external tearing, as well. I only had a few days of vaginal discomfort, and feel back to normal now, at 4 weeks pp.

I had stitches for internal lacerations and a c-section, and I felt pretty much back to normal at 2.5 weeks. I feel totally fine now at 6weeks.

I don't know how many stitches I had, but on my chart it says "deep internal 2nd degree tear" and it took FOREVER to get me stitched up, so I assume it was a lot!!
Anyways, I felt ok to stand and sit and not use ice packs after a couple of weeks. I still did sitz baths up until 6 weeks, at which point I felt pretty normal.

I had episiotomy and 3rd degree tears. I pushed for 3.5 hours. After two weeks, i stopped walking like i was constipated. But i was definitely in pain the first week and a bit.
Voltaren suppository worked wonders for pain the first few days.

I had a second degree tear. I would say that it took about a month to heal. The first week or two were the worst. After that, it got better.
