Fellow moms, I'm running out of storage space on my iPhone 5!! I have so many pictures and videos of my DD and I don't want to just delete them. What did you do with your photos/videos on your phone? What are my options?

I back up my photos/videos on skydrive. It has more storage space than cloud.

I back them up to my computer, which auto backups to my external hard drive.

Get an Android so you can use an external sd card for more storage? Not helpful, I know.
I don't know how it works with Apple but all of the pictures I take are automatically uploaded to Dropbox where I can see them at any time and download them when needed for printing.

I'm right there with you. My husband put them all on my computer and I STILL don't want to delete them.....gotta do it though!

I have the Dropbox app and I back them up on there before deleting them.

@mediagirl: Yes Apple has the same drobpox functionality but you may need to purchase additional dropbox storage space because what comes "free" isn't enough for me.
I also like the Shutterfly App (also use it for prints and projects) and I can easily upload straight from my phone to albums there and then back up one more time before deleting.

Back them up on Dropbox and delete your text messages! This happened to me all the time and i finally deleted all my txts and got like 6 gbs of space! I had over 2.5 years worth on there!

I just read a wsj article about various storage options. m.us.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304279904579517593807591638?mg=reno64-wsj

@T.H.O.U.: oh definitely! I forgot to mention that. We ended up getting 2 years of 55GB free for a few years so that hasn't been a worry for me.

Back them up on your computer/drop box/flickr.
My husband and i just actually got a flickr account and housed it on a domain name we bought (www.ourlastname.com) so that we can post pictures and not flood peoples' facebook pages. Not to mention myself and others i know are leaving fb anyway

I had the same thing happen last year. I purchased this hard drive and backed all my photos to my computer, and then to this hard drive (just in case something happens to my computer). Then I just deleted a bunch of pictures!

I'm always getting that storage message, so annoying! My problem is also pictures so I back them up on the Photobucket app and I bought extra iCloud space to back them up there too. I'm so scared of losing all of my pictures!

You could use Google Drive (it's like DropBox) to store photos. They give 15 gigs of storage free and their prices for more space are very reasonable.

I'm paranoid - I have them backed up on my computer, an external hard drive, and Drop Box.

Mine automatically back up to my photo stream, then I transfer them to Snapfish, then print. Then delete.

Uplaoded them to my computer and deleted them off my phone so I could have more space!
ETA: I also uploaded them to a photo site for storage.

Hah, I just had this problem. I put them on my computer, and then deleted most of them off my phone. It was SO hard to delete them off my phone! I ended up keeping a couple faves, but now I can refill my phone with new favorites

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Ditto!
I also store them on Google Drive. I'm a bit paranoid about losing my early pictures and videos of him!

It's backed up automatically through iTunes to my computer, then I back up the photos again to an external drive which is uploaded to cloud storage.
Back those photos up!! Doesn't matter if pure running out of space or not, you need to protect them!

I back my photos up to Amazon cloud via the app. However, I have now run out of free storage on the cloud and will have to buy more or figure out something else!

Back them up (any number of ways previous posters have mentioned)
And then delete all but one or two pictures from each photo session. Like I had 12 pictures of my little nephew swinging at a park. I picked the best one, and deleted the rest off my phone. I can still scroll through and see pictures I love, but I drastically cut down on space.

Back them up on your computer! You can create a folder of select photos to keep on your phone, so you can still enjoy the ones you have already taken.
I'm terrible about this, btw! My DH periodically steals my phone and backs it up for me

Wow thanks ladies!! I have 1700 photos on my phone just from age 4 months to 16 months, so I need to do something about it. It's going to be so hard to delete the pics from my phone though. It's great to know there are so many backups out there.
