I wouldn't put the crib in front of the window for drafts and cold and feng shui.

I agree it could be very cold under the window. Also God forbid a rock or something hits the window in a storm (or a kid throws a baseball during nap time) and breaks the glass. I also much prefer having the glider near the crib. Easy transfer of sleeping baby : )

I actually like the glider in that awkward (ha) nook area, but would probably swap the crib and dresser, due to the window. Nice stripes!

I like the third except switch the crib and dresser. It would look fine by the window. But I wouldn't do the crib by the window.

Would it look silly to have the crib come into the room (rather than along the wall)? That would use less wall space.

Is the changing pad going to be on top of the dresser? I would do crib against the striped wall, glider in the nook, and dresser under the window.

If you live in earthquake territory, I'd avoid putting the crib in front of the window. That is a tricky configuration!

I've seen a few nurseries where the closet doors were taken off and instead of being used as storage, they were used as nooks in which the crib was put. Very cozy for baby But of course you lose the storage space, so you would need a wardrobe or some organizers to put elsewhere in the room. Just a suggestion!

I personally would not put a crib in front of a window more because of the toddler stage - if my LO had his crib in front of the window, he would constantly be playing with the blinds or trying to touch the glass.

I think I like the look of crib in front of the window. One thing to be really careful about though is your blinds. They can't be anything that has cords that the baby could get tangled in, and they really shouldn't be anything that the baby could pull down. Basically, be really careful about strangulation and / or suffocation hazards. Cordless blinds are expensive, but seem pretty awesome.

I wouldn't be confortable having the crib in front of the window. What about doing your set up in your first diagram but shift the crib closer to the closet and put the glider in the other corner in front of the window? Or do like someone else said and put the glider in the nook, the dresser in front of the window and the crib on the wall without a window.

I love the glider in the nook. Nice to have a cozy corner and a view for feeding but i would just pop the crib in the middle of the room. Don't see why it needs to be against a wall.

I am like others and like the chair in the nook, dresser in front of window and crib on wall. I have a really awkward nursery with a whole wall of closet and obstruction on all but one wall, so I totally understand your dilemma!

I love looking at room layouts! I would put the glider closest to the crib, like pp have said. I think the best layout for that would be the crib in layout 1.

I think having the crib in front of the window would look fine, but it would make me really nervous that baby could potentially pull on or get wrapped up in blinds/cords/curtains. If there was some way you could make sure that wouldn't happen, especially as LO is older and pulling up, I would be more comfortable with it.

I wouldn't put the crib in front of the window - I can't picture baby napping in the exact spot where light is streaming into the room, sounds like it would go over horribly. Sure, you can close the drapes - but as baby gets older and starts grabbing at and pulling on the drapes through the crib slates, that's going to be a big problem.

I agree with many of the others - rocker in the nook, crib on the wall, and dresser in front of the window.

I wouldn't put the crib in front of the window for light and window covering reasons... My DD is pretty sensitive to light, so I like having her crib away from the window to help me get good naps and later morning wake-ups. Also, as your baby gets older and can stand up in the crib, they are going to want to play with and tug at every thing they can reach, which is going to include blinds, curtains, etc.

I think you'll be happier with option #1 in the end because the crib and glider are so close together - much more convenient for MOTN wake ups.

One consideration - are you doing a video monitor? If so, you need to think about where the camera will go. Ours (Motorola) can mount on the wall, but if you get one that can't, you need somewhere to set it that is near the crib but out of your baby's reach (there is nothing my DD would rather play with than the camera cord... sigh).
