We are debating between the oxo sprout, the boon flair, and the stokke tripp trapp...anyone have any opinions on any of these?
Also, we live in a small apt, so something with a smaller footprint or that fits well in small spaces would be great!

We have the sprout and love it. It looks awesome, is so easy to clean, and seems to be awesome quality. The cushions velcro on and off which makes them so easy to clean and get all the nooks and crannies. We LOVE it!
We also love that it is so small. We have a small space too so size was a huge plus.

We have the sprout and I love it. It looks like furniture, not another piece of baby gear, and is easy to clean. It's $$$, but worth it in my view.

Another vote for the oxo sprout, for all the reasons listed above!

We got the oxo sprout, but haven't used it yet. We felt it had the best reviews overall.

We have a Joovy, which easily folds up for storage when not in use.

we have two boon flairs. the girls aren't in them yet but i love them, ha! and while i love them i have to say i'm not sure they fit the criteria for "space saving" high chairs

@hilsy85: another one you may want to consider is the evenflo modern.....it's similar to the sprout.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: ooh good to know that it's small! That's pretty key for us.

I have the Tripp trapp and love it. It grows with your baby and even I sit on it sometimes.

@filly: is it on the bigger side?? I like that one because of the pneumatic lift, which I think is cool!

Love the Sprout! One of the big reasons we went with this is because it is BPA, PVC, and Pthalate (sp?)-free. It does not fold up for storage, but we just slide it under our counter top bar area.

@filly: ah wow, ok, big! Good to know, i thikn we can cross it off the list unfortunately..
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@hilsy85: it doesn't. You have to buy it separately.
I think the infant feeding set (tray and some other stuff) is around 60? I never had to get it since we got ours when Lo was older

@chopsuey119: haha glad to know that I'm not the only one who has sat on a Tripp Trapp!

We have a Tripp Trapp! I love that it will last for so long! And I have totally sat in one for full meals at my BBFs house! Plus it matches our regular furniture which I love!

I loooove our sprout! I was just telling someone today it was silly how much I love that high chair!

I wanted to put it out there that we went an untraditional route of having a booster that hooks onto a real seat.
We live in a small condo and this worked out well for us, and it's cheap! Normally priced between 26-28 dollars. We have two, one that is prementally at home on one of our dinning room chairs and one in the car when we eat out.
Also we have one at my in-laws when we visit, we normally fly to them and so we bought one at target when we went to visit for xmas and left it there for future visits.
Just thought I would put this option out there for you. We love it!

Another vote for the sprout! Aside from everything already mentioned, LO could sit comfortably in it at 6-7 months when we started solids. Our in-laws bought a Chicco high chair to keep at their house, and LO just didn't fit that well in it (at least during the holidays when she was 8 months).

oxo sprout! i like that it blends in with our existing furniture

@hilsy85: we got the Phil & Teds lobster chair and are thinking we may just use that for now... Our place is pretty small and my SIL had a chair for us, but it takes up so much room and I don't want to look at it all the time. Do you have a table that would work with?? My friends did that which gave me the idea...
squash / 13764 posts
Wow! Lots of sprout love! @chopsuey119: @MamaMoose: so do you pull it up to the table then? And Lo eats off the table?
@hellobeeboston: I thought about that but our table has like a ledge under it, as does our breakfast bar, so I don't think we would be able to use it... I'm sad because that would be an easy solution!
honeydew / 7488 posts
@Raindrop: I know a lot if families who do this and it's a great space saver! And economical.
We have a Tripp trapp. DS just eats off the table and it pulls up so he can sit with us. DD used it first. It's awesome.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@hilsy85: LO is still too little but yes we will pull her up to the table. It is our plan to all eat together as much as possible.
squash / 13764 posts
@T-Mom: @MamaMoose: hmm I guess I'm wondering how this works when kids get into the "put their hands in all the food and throw it everywhere" phase...i feel like I'd rather have food on the floor/a high chair tray than all over my/DH's plate. I do like the idea of all eating at the same table though...
honeydew / 7488 posts
@hilsy85: I have to add that we used our peg perego high chair for when DS was first on solids.. We already had it and I agree that having a tray is easy to clean. Since he's self feeding now he sits in the tripp trapp. You could look into the tray? The traditional high chair had a short lifespan in our house. They could not wait to get out of them!

we have the mamas and papas pixi highchair. Check out how small this thing folds up! And it can be pulled up to the table. It's very wipable and modern looking.

What about the baby bjorn one? Anyone have experience with that? It looks like it folds down pretty small...
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@T-Mom: Before we had our baby, one of our good friends had lunch with us with their 10 month old and that's what they used and just talked it up so much that we used it without considering getting a traditional high chair at all. We never looked back. Hehe.

We have the Boon one, and love it. Don't write it off yet. To explain, we have a 760 sq ft house, and our dining room is maybe 7ft x 4ft? Probably smaller than that. And it's basically just an open area on the side of our kitchen, and opens to our backyard, so it's a high traffic area. And nothing but the Boon would have worked because (1) the base has wheels, so it's easy to move around the kitchen/dining room (our house feels like a real life Tetris game with how things have to move for us to have space), (2), the base slides under our table so when not in use, it takes up no more of our "walking room" than our dining chairs when pushed up/under the table. Nothing else would have worked in our little home so well.
Other reasons I love the Boon chair is that we have a tall bar height table, and because of the pneumatic lift, it can be raised to table height, and it is SOOOO easy to clean.
squash / 13764 posts
@red_seattle: hmm ok! Back in the running... Sounds like we have a similar layout--our "dining room" is a space against our wall.
I think I need to make a trip to BBB to see these in person and get a sense for how much room they take up.

@hilsy85: Forgot another Boon benefit: we have a dog, so we can lower the high chair to her height so she can help us "clean up" the chair after meals. Haha.
grape / 87 posts
We have the Boon and we live in a small NYC apartment. It's great and no crannies for food to get into. And sometimes we pretend she's in Star Trek and wheel her around in it.
bananas / 9357 posts
@hilsy85: Not at all. It feels sturdy to me. It is pretty light, but the legs are metal and it takes a bit of force to get it to lock.
