Any experience? We're wanting to go hiking tomorrow and put T in the Ergo on my back. Just easy trails, no intense mountain climbing or anything. Lol
I've seen good reviews about hiking with the Performance Carrier but nothing really about using the Original. Any experience? T is 13 months and 23 pounds.

Yep! We loved ours for easy hikes. We were able to use the Ergo for hiking with our daughter up until she was almost 4 and about 38 lbs!

We are in a hiking group and lots of people use them for little ones. I think the bigg.est gripe is they can get hot but frankly I think they all do!

I used mine for hiking until LO was about 12-13 months. Then she started to get antsy and would push to get out, I think because she was cramped. It does get hot!

We don't baby wear too often but we plan on hiking with the ergo original when we go to Puerto Rico. LO is 25ish lbs.

This won't really help you for tomorrow, but if you do more hiking - I really like my onya. The ergo got too uncomfortable when LO hit 18 lbs. the belt on an Onya is much more like a hiking back pack's belt. Plus the seat is much wider than an onya and gives baby's butt a better position to "sit" in instead of just being strapped to you.

@artsyfartsy: I carried H in our Ergo while hiking at Natural Bridge last year and it wasn't too bad. I had to stop and rest a few time because we were going uphill, but it was okay. I think it would have been easier if she was on my back.

@avivoca: I'm going to put T on my back. I feel more comfortable that wear. Seems easier to carry
