Anyone have tips on hip pain towards the end of pregnancy? My hips and inner thighs are so sore I can't imagine how I'm gonna push a baby out.

oh yes. i've had hip pain since about 20 weeks, but in the past few weeks it's tripled in intensity. the inner thighs/crotch is the worst, especially when i've walked a lot/been working. i think i forgot what normal feels like though, so that's something...

Maybe try yoga? I have a prenatal yoga DVD that helped a lot with the hip pain.

@photojane: same here!! For me rolling over is unbearable. Some nights I really can't walk without help. My mom asked me if I had made any interesting meals lately and I said no. I've had trouble sanding long enough to cook dinner. She got all, "just wait! It will just get harder after the baby!" Grrr.
Does really no one else have this problem?

@jedeve: My hips hurt at the end of the day, but doesn't sound like it's as bad as yours. My biggest issue is my back.

I had hip pain really early on where it felt like my hip would pop out if I wasn't careful. Now when rolling over at night it's more of a pelvic pain. I've kind of solved it by pushing my hips in the air so my weight is on my shoulders and feet and then rotating in the air. It's difficult, but I wake up DH with my pain whimpers if I don't.

I had a lot of hip and pelvic pain throughout pregnancy and what helped me the most was physical therapy and yoga. Good luck; at least the pain will get better soon!

I am right there with you. Its hands down the number one biggest "pain" I have had this pregnancy.
I feel like my inner thigh and crotch area muscles just keep tearing over and over everytime I move. I am 36 weeks now and I think its been a solid 3 plus months I have been feeling this way now.
I totally feel you on the rolling over. I actually found it easier to go from laying on one side to getting on "all fours" up on my hands and knees and then laying down on my other side less painful than trying to roll over.
Other than that I try to stretch those muscle areas out a lot. It helps some. But doesnt seem to "last" that long if that makes sense.

@Rescuemom10: yeah I wasn't sure if stretching made it worse or better. I guess unlike other injuries you just keep reinjuring it right away with the big belly!

@jedeve: At first in the beginning it "felt better" when I would streatch....but would not last long and hurt like you know what again all too soon.
Ugh!

When I had hip pain I would go get adjusted! It worked wonders!! Look into a local Chiroprator. It made the last for weeks a lot more comfortable!

I have a lot of hip pain too! Especially when I sleep. My doctor said my hips are widening to prepare for delivery (I have small hips to begin with). Unfortunately, my Boppy body pillow does not help much at all. The only thing that relieves the pain for me is to switch sides throughout the night and spread my hips apart to crack them
