I like some of them although I probably wouldn't have used any.
Auden is kind of cool?
Breseida is a no for me.

I really like Lennon and Roman, but I actually feel like I'd use Lennon for a girl instead of a boy.
I'm not a huge fan of any of the names on the girl's list.

I like a couple of them... but Id never use any of them. The commentary was pretty funny.

So in my life there is a Byron, Enoch, Auden and a Zola!
I like Odette since it's a ballet name. Don't love it enough to use it though.
honeydew / 7916 posts
I actually considered Roman...which if you consider what we went with is not that far off!

I can't say I am into any of these names, but DH accuses me of wanting to turn our son into a mini hipster cause of all the little hipster kid outfits I pin on Pinterest!
grapefruit / 4089 posts
@runnerd: hipster kid outfits are the cutest ever!! Haha
I don't mind some of the names, but I wouldn't use any of them myself. I like Lennon for a girl, though.

LO's name is only one letter different than one name of the list. Our top boy name is also just one letter away from another name. Crap - am I a hipster?

@Mae: I think of Zola from Grey's Anatomy - she was so cute!!
@cmomma17: Odette was the swan princess' name! I remember loving it as a little girl because of the movie!

Hmmm, I think Enoch would be a big no no in the uk as it was the name of a well known racist politician!

We know a few of those......!!! But then again, we are massive hipsters!

@runnerd: I'm not remotely a hipster but if I had a little boy I would be dressing him in nothing but bow ties and suspenders. Too cute to even think about.
I actually like a few of the boys names, and wren isn't that bad. Definitely wouldn't use any of them though
pineapple / 12053 posts
I know a toddler wren and I love the name! I know an adult Nico and I don't think of it as a hipster name at all.

too funny! One of the boys names is on our list just because it was fil's name.
I dislike Wren. It reminds me of when this clique of girls from my middle school started calling each other by semi unusual nicknames (the ends of their names) and of course Lauren became "ren" and I thought they were so weird and trying way too hard to be cutesy. And that impression has stuck, even though its silly!

I know some people with a couple of these names. Personally, I like Wren!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
I actually like quite a few of the boys names on that list! I probably wouldn't think twice if I met a little Odette or Wren, either. But we've got some unusual names in our group of acquaintances.

I went to grad school with a Liora. I like Wren. I was surprised that Alistair wasn't on this list. I thought it's a popular hipster name.

If you like any of these names does it mean you are secretly a hipster?!
I actually thought some of these names were reasonable. Of course some were kind of weird but movie stars always seem to name their kids weird names and a lot of people think that's okay.

@Mrs Green Grass: we're still stuck trying to pick a name...this definitely cracked me up I had a patient named Auden, he was a cute little guy!

@Corduroy: if you are, then so am I I love Tess as a nickname, and Ignatius is on our short list for boys' middle names!! Some of them don't seem all that hipster to me, to be honest.
honeydew / 7586 posts
Generally speaking, I'm a huge fan of most hipster names. I'm from Baltimore though, so it shouldn't be surprising.
pomelo / 5820 posts
I know a Roman! I wouldn't use these names, but I like a few of them. Suzette is cute.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
One of those is DHs late grandfathers name, and he wants to use it as a middle name.
kiwi / 550 posts
Inez is on our short list. I mean I guess being a suffragette was pretty hip back in the day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inez_Milholland
We like Ignatius too. We came across it doing my wife's family tree.
But who am I kidding, we are probably hipsters. That little boy is dressed just like my wife.
