Hobby Lobby just opened near me...is it better than Michael's? The stores are in the same shopping center!

I only remember Michaels growing up & they sucked comparatively. No idea if they've changed in the last decade though.... If not, Hobby Lobby is definitely better!

It depends. I like Michael's because the quality is sometimes better, but Hobby Lobby has more brands and art supplies.

I'm a hobby lobby enthusiast. Sign up for their email list and u get a 40% off coupon every Sunday. You can just show it on your phone when you check out!

I'm obsessed with Hobby Lobby, and the coupons and sales are awesome. Never go in there without checking their sales and printing off your 40% off coupon!

I usually go to Michael's, but I have only been to Hobby Lobby once. I should go check it out again, I had no idea it had so much stuff? I just got the impression that it was a bunch of furniture and fake flowers, I should give it another go!

I don't shop at Hobby Lobby anymore, but I used to and it's a lot less expensive than Michael's. I don't think I ever bought anything full price there. If I found something I liked that wasn't on sale, I'd wait till the next week and it'd be 50% off. I never seem to find good deals at Michael's. However, I think Michael's has higher quality products (like their Martha Stewart stuff).

i like hobby lobby's selection better, but as far is a can tell they don't take competitors coupons.

Too funny I just printed a Hobby Lobby coupon and am about to head over. I think they have more variety than Michaels. either place I won't shop without taking a coupon though:)

Hobby Lobby has way more selection than Michael's, at least in our area. Not sure if that's true everywhere, but locally it's at least twice as big if not three times.

I'm not a fan of Hobby Lobby's politics and wish they didn't fill their stores with cheap furniture and knick knacks. I prefer Michaels. Both have apps with coupons

I like both equally but much prefer Joann's. Both michaels and hobby lobby near me don't have fabric.

HL has a much better selection of stuff then Michael's.

I don't like Hobby Lobby. Not a fan of their in your face beliefs/business practices (no retailer should be closed on Sundays!) or their high prices. I'll take Michaels any day.

I prefer hobby lobby but will go to Michael's if hobby lobby doesn't have what I need.

No Hobby Lobby near me, but Michaels always seems so expensive!

@KissMeCait: lol then you shouldn't visit Utah. Everything is closed Sundays!

@anonysquire: Believe it or not, Utah is not on my must-see list! lol

Hobby Lobby is soooo much better!! I don't even go to Michael's anymore

I prefer Hobby Lobby. They are closed Sundays, but they have a much better selection. They also have a smartphone ap that gives you access to coupons and shows you the sale flier, so you don't even have to worry about printing coupons.
