What's your holiday collection? Where are some of the places you buy from to add to your collection?
I helped my mom amass a small army of black Angels & Santas. The last Angel came from Cracker Barrel's gift shop a few years ago. Most of the Santa figurines came from Macy's.
I would like to start a Nutcracker collection, but am having a hard time finding ethnic ones in traditional attire. Train sets and Nativity scenes are also beautiful, but I have no patience for the set up.

We started a nutcracker collection for Chloe when I was pregnant with her. She has a ton of ornaments & figurines. I set them up at Xmas time but they're hers, and they'll go to her home when she moves out.

My mom bought Lladros for me- one for every year until I was maybe 22 or 23. She always said they would be mine when I had a home of my own. Now, she says when she dies I get them. I can't blame her though, if she gave them to me now she would have to figure out what to fill in her curio.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I don't know! Chloe picked out an owl ornament for her, so maybe we will do owls. They haven't grown on me the way nutcrackers have, though, and they don't scream Christmas to me, either!

I have attempted to start holiday collections, but I never manage. I have a set of sterling sleigh bell ornaments, that's about it.
I tried to start collecting nutcrackers, but the ones i like are expensive (stienboch).

@Mrs. Jump Rope: agree, owls arent super festive. Reindeer are my back up collection idea, but it's a bit strange to collect those since we won't have Santa.

I have a collection of cone-shaped trees and antique (or replica) glass tree toppers. I would love to start a collection of nutcrackers too, but the nice ones that last can be pricey.

In my travels over the years I have collected small nativity sets. My favorite is from Bolivia--llamas instead of donkeys, like the photo below.

I really really want to start collecting Simon Pearce evergreens, but they're so expensive and I can't justify spending the money on something I'll only pull out once a year.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: If you decide you're going to start collecting nutcrackers, I have an AA one I'll send you. My MIL collected them to decorate my husbands room when he was little. I think they're creepy. I haven't pulled our Christmas stuff this year, but I'm almost certain the AA one is in perfect shape and traditional.

My parents used to give me one piece of a waterford nativity set each year starting when I was a teen. It was discontinued before I got the whole thing, but I have the most important players (the holy family, wise men, a shepherd and a donkey)

K loves snow globes and her musical jewelry box, so I'm hoping to help her collect some musical globes. But I keep worrying about how heavy, fragile, and space-hogging they can be.
