Searching for some great Holiday craft ideas for older kids - ages 12 and 9. Bonus points for things that could double as gifts for grandparents and/or DH! Or could be used as ornaments/decor.
We will have my stepkids for Christmas for the first time this year so I'm trying to plan ahead, stock up on supplies, etc. Thanks!

Salt dough ornaments are always a hit, you can paint and decorate them. I plan to do some this year, it's super easy, literally, just equal parts flour and salt, with enough water to make a rollable dough. Then you cut and bake for a few hours in a low oven.

@cmomma17: tempera, but I'd probably color the dough using food colors to make it look like gingerbread, then I'd just glue on decorations, or use puffy paint!
