I'm attending my work's holiday party this weekend and it is cocktail attire at a really nice restaurant. I haven't really been to a winter event in a super long time - do I have to wear tights or nylons with my dress? Is having bare legs a super no no? My only dress shoes are nude peep toe wedges, so I can't really wear tights or nylons with them!

If I'm going bare legged in winter I prefer long sleeves or tall boots for balance.

I haven't gone through my shoe inventory but I have a feeling I'm going to have the same issue. Even though the winter has been mild I doubt it will be warm enough in the evening to go bare legged!

@HappyBaker: what are you wearing??? I ran out of time to shop and have nothing "winter" appropriate. I'm hoping one of my two black dresses fit. But they're both sleeveless so I might just use a pashmina and call it a day. Blegh

@regberadaisy: I did Rent the Runway so one of these, I can't decide! The black is more my style but the purple is really pretty, I just never wear anything form fitting like it! -
