If you get pictures done to use for your holiday photo cards, when do you usually do it?

I normally do it sometime in Nov (before thanksgiving) and try to catch a black Friday deal on snapfish or shutterfly. I've been thinking about this too!

Getting ours done this weekend.
I've noticed that photographers will offer "holiday mini sessions" (shorter photo sessions specifically for you to use in your holiday card) in October and early November, so that's something to watch for. -
I do our photography, so usually towards the end of November/early December.

We're doing a family session Oct 18. We wanted it to still look like fall and November can be hot or miss with the weather here!

We will probably use a picture from R's 18M shoot in September. Unless we get a friend to take a holiday one.

End of Oct is the best time in the midwest b/c of how pretty it is! But I think we're going to do early Nov and dress up the trees like this. I take my camera and meet a friend and we just snap a few for each other.

We're taking ours first week in November! They're both for DS' 2nd bday and holidays!

Ours will be later than normal this year. We usually do them in mid November. But I want baby in them, so it's likely to be the end of November.

From what I remember (we do it with my family), we don't take the picture till Thanksgiving, then I guess my mom just works super fast to get the printed/mailed out!

Since I'm due in November, we're planning to use one photo from our family-of-3 shoot in September and one photo from LO2's newborns.

We are going to use DD's 18 month photo session for our Christmas cards. We were freshly back from vacation with a summer glow.

We are doing it the first weekend in Nov! My sister takes our pictures for us. We have our outfits, just need to find a good location!

We usually take them Oct/Nov, but I got tired of dealing with the cold weather outfits. We took them in Sept this year and planning the clothes was a breeze.

We usually scramble late Nov or in Dec for ours.
This year, DH suggested going to Mt Rainier like this month to do our photo. We'll be early this year, if we can make it happen.

We did professional pictures a few months ago so we wont be paying for them again, so i will either take a more holiday like photo of lo myself, or i will just include one of our professional fmaily shots, even though they arent really very christmassy.

I think I am only going to put LO on our card this year (that's who everyone really wants to see anyway
). I plan on taking her photo infront of our Christmas tree, which we put up the first weekend in December. So... around then!

We plan to have my dad take them when we go cut down our Christmas tree, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

@pui: I was actually thinking of doing that too. We're getting our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I could potentially pull that off!
@QueensBee: Actually, you just reminded me that my parents are going to help me decorate the tree after we get it. Maybe I can get them to take a nice family picture of the three of us while they are here and then I can include a picture of all of us and not JUST Xander!

@Adira: Ahhh, that's a little tricky. My dad is a photography hobbyist so he brings his whole set up for photos! Fancy camera, enormous flash, tripod, etc.
Could you set it all up on the tripod so they just have to click when you smile?

We're doing ours on Sunday (a week from today) with the photographer who did our wedding 5 years ago. I want to get our order in before the company I work for gets too crazy busy.

We just got family photos done this weekend. They won't be very Christmasy, but we'll either use those or some I take myself. I love the idea of snapping some when we go pick our tree. LO will be 16 months so I'm hoping he'll be into it.
