I just found out my midwife has Jury Duty the week following my due date. There is a back up plan in place but now I'm a nervous wreck 
With a first child in a family with a history of late births, it's pretty likely I could be birthing that week. I really trust my midwife and want to birth with her! Sorry I just had to vent my worry

More than likely she won't be selected for the jury and it will just be a one day thing. Even if you go late, odds that you deliver on that day aren't that high.

Could she request to be excused because of her line of work and the "on-call" nature of it?

Yeah a lot of people who get called for jury duty get dismissed, and they only keep 12 of them out of over 100 people

I wouldn't worry about it, it should work out just fine. There's no guarantee they'll even use her for jury duty or you'll hold on to the baby that long.
Does your midwife work with other midwives or apprentices? Have you met them?

Try not to get stressed out, it's not good for anyone. No matter what you will have someone there to help you, and it will be fine! Hoping your LO decides to come on time.
