DH asked what we're going to do on Thanksgiving day - we're doing a big family thing on Saturday and a smaller family gathering on Friday. I think DH wants to commemorate the day somehow with just us even though it'll be just us three.
What are you doing if you're not with family?

I would put turkey breast in the oven and make a tiny dinner! And watch the Macy's Day Parade in the morning

we're never with family on T-Giving, so we watch the parade (in person the last 3 years) and I make turkey breast or chicken parm. Keep it a low key family day

When it is just us we do the parade and/or Turkey Trot in the morning, cook dinner together (more elaborate than usual but not a full feast) and play board games or cards. It is so nice to have a holiday with just us sometimes, it feels like an indulgent treat!

Watch the parade in the morning, make a Christmas craft with LO during the day. My family the LO's always make a gift to give to everyone, so that would be a perfect time. I always love the ornaments.

We're not going to see family at all this Thanksgiving. We're spending the day with some friends who are like family.
