DH just went down in the basement and made this discovery. Guessing a rock hit it when he was mowing. Glad they are double paned but more expense we didn't need this month.
And this makes me realize we really need to clean up the dirt and cleanup the lower patio!

Oh nooooo. I found some moisture on the wall of my closet but I have ignored it and hoped it would just go away. That's totally going to work, right? Times like this I wish I could just call the landlord.

@mamimami: we found mold under our baseboard underneath our bedroom window a few weeks ago, when DH ripped up carpet and put in new flooring. Freaked me out & I'm kind of glad he put in new flooring when he did...

Our back deck caved in thanks to the 8372820394729 cm of snow we got this year . Dh is trying to find a contractor to fix it before a baby shower I'm hosting here next weekend. Such a pain!!

Ugh, that sucks!
We discovered a raccoon living in our shed. The shed is also rotten. DH is tearing it down today but it's going to cost a lot to take the debris to the dump.
We've only been living here a month! The raccoon is a huge issue bc of our dog. Otherwise we'd probably ignore it for a while.

Uggggh I'm sorry!
We had a frozen pipe burst in our basement this winter. Such a mess, had to replace drywall, the carpet... Luckily insurance covered it.

We have to replace all of our windows because the seals were faulty and now they're full of condensation. One or two a year from now until....forever?

Ugh, I'm sorry!
Right now we are dealing with an ant invasion, which normally wouldn't bother me but they are EVERYWHERE in our kitchen and it destroying the colony will require busting up our patio. Ugh.

@redsmarties: There are two down there and both need to be fully replaced but we can't swing it yet. Were going to wait till we did the whole basement. Going to see if we can get the one glass replaced for now.

Ouch, that sucks. Our AC went out in Wednesday, thank goodness it was just the circuit board and not the whole unit, but yeah, more money that wasn't budgeted this month.

@avivoca: i read that if you leave uncooked cream of wheat out for them they will take it back to the colony and it will kill all of them. it expands in their stomachs and kills them. we had ants a few weeks ago and i was able to get rid of them by washing floor with vinegar, sealing cracks, and sprinkling barriers of cinnamon, but sounds like you may have to take lethal action (aka cream of wheat).
