I can't look away. I just watched 'Mama' cook 'sketti' with 'butter and ketchup' for dinner.............. I can't stop watching this show and I don't know why!

I heard her kids got removed by protective services because their mom feeds them road kill and let's them drink! I didn't read the article in its entirety but it was something along those lines!

Ahhh, you're not the only one! Ha
I was chatting about the show with a friend at lunch today. We both had a total gigglefest over Joel McHale always calling Mama June "The Human Thumb".
I'm mean and awful. But seriously... The Human Thumb is such a great description.

Okay I've been secretly watching this. I even showed it to DH and he started watching it with me. I thought I would be appalled but....No. They actually really love each other! And I kind of admire how they don't care about what anyone thinks - they're just happy in their little house on the train tracks:) Throw in some sketti and some forklift foot and it just makes for good Wednesday night fun:)

I don't like that there is "Honey Boo Boo" and "trainwreck" in the same sentence lol. I love that family, I could do without so many toots, but they are hilarious.

I though I heard Alanna mention eating roadkill but I didn't believe it and suspected I misheard it!!

@jholler25: Forklift foot! Hahhahaha I was dying. Did you see the episode where mama finally showed her foot? Were those real gnats swarming? Hahahhahaha
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@anonysquire: I cannot for the life of me figure out how so many gnats got on that forklift foot so fast!!!!
So you really have to give Alanna props because she's pretty cute and her parents are.....not. She's also always so happy and just in her own world.
My heart totally broke when they took Glitzy away from her and she cried. I thought Glitzy was actually pretty cute and I liked how when he squealed it sounded like he was shrieking "Alanna!!!!"

@jholler25: Ya I want a glitzy now. Also I was watching her in a paegent and she actually cleans up nice! That was cute to watch.
Oh and Miss Georgia or whoever it was that came and saw her was so rude. Like telling a 6yr old to not put cake on her face and thats not cute. She is only 6 years old, and she could be like pumpkin or osmething worse. What is the point of a stuck-up beauty queen visiting with normal people, trying to convince everyone you are humble and crap just to judge a poor 6 year old.

@jholler25: I had nightmares about that foot and the image of the bugs crawling in it. DH and I watched it in bed that night and I could not fall asleep cause that image was burned into my head! That being said I love the show and I totally call DH "Shugie" sometimes

@lawbee11: Lol! DH calls me Honey Boo Boo and sometimes we call our chub chihuahua Glitzy when he's laying around with his potbelly on display:)

Wow. I just saw where they did Christmas in July for charity. That's kinda cool. What do they do for a living?

@jholler25: ha! That's cute. Oh, and I will never look at a biscuit the same.

@Thehistoryofus: I am pretty sure the mom doesn't work. She just stays home and clips coupons. I don't know what Sugar Bear does, but they've said he works 7 days a week. Clearly I know way too much about this show.

I read they were paid $4K per episode to do this show for TLC. I hope it goes up since clearly, there are tons of people watching them now:)

according to wiki the dad works in a chalk mine, and is only the bio father to alanna.
the fact that mama june is 33 and a grand mother makes me throw up a little in my mouth as I'll be 31 in a few weeks. Women in their 30's should never be grand mothers!! :o!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@yoursilverlining: yep! Each of the girls has a different bio dad. I read on perezhilton that the other three dads are all in jail.

@yoursilverlining: she is only 33??! that's rough. I can't imagine being a Gmama at 33......
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@lawbee11: Well thank goodness Sugar bear is such a good dad to all of the girls. He said he considers them all his daughters and the daughters consider him as their dad. You can't fault anyone for that. Just a good family, maybe slightly crazy, trying to make it through this life. Throw in some toots, a pig and a forklift foot and you get a TV show!
