I'm with Mrs Bee! My kids think that is hilarious and I think its so dumb

I do love the movie though!

My 3 year old is a fan of this movie. We now like to have Taco Tuesday! I love this movie too - however, I'm not sure if I have ever sat down and watched it all...I'll have to pay more attention to the coffee cup scene at the end.

I enjoyed it, but didn't like the messages it sends at the end. This definitely won't be one we'll own when we have LO's.

@mrbee: I came away from it feeling like it implied it was wrong to prefer to follow the instructions on legos, and to like having things built the "right" way. And that if you don't use your imagination to build your own things, you're doing it wrong. I also didn't like that in the end it was considered okay that the kid chose to play with and destroy something that his dad had spent hours on and cared about, just because "toys are for kids, not adults." The kid had his own, and I don't think it's right to send a message that it's ever okay to not respect other people's property, pretty much just because he REALLY wanted to play with it.

I know most people didn't come away from it thinking those things, but those were still the messages that I got from it, and not ones that I want my kids getting.

@.twist.: thread jacking to say that my 6 yr old got the Star Wars Lego At-At for Christmas and just finished it last weekend - its amazing!

I really liked the lego movie. It was the last movie DH and I saw in theater before LO was born. I prefer kid movies to most adult movies!

That line cracks us up all the time STILL. Plus we do all the variations--Honey, PUT ON your paaaaaants!, Honey, PUT AWAY your paaaaants!

I totally did NOT love Lego until I streamed the movie. Now, I'm sold. We bought the digital version and minis designed to (sort of) look like each of us.

A highlight on my last Cali trip was seeing the Lego movie set which was on exhibit in Legoland. I took a ton of pics of the father's workbench and was thrilled! My screensaver is a pic lifesize Emmet and me. The only part that worried me was Batman's song "Darkness, no parents!!" but LO is just so silly when she sings it, it makes me laugh.

To me, the message to kids was that everyone needs to think and solve problems creatively because each of us has something special to contribute....and to adults: let the kids step up and interact instead of micromanaging the environment.

Whenever we see anything Lego (at Target or anything) we immediately start singing and rocking out to "Everything is awesome". We're fun people, lol

We say this all the time, too. M will sometimes be in just a onesie and D will ask him, "M, where are your paaaaaaannttts?" And M cracks up everytime.
