A friend is having a cocktail party at her house tonight and it just occurred to me that I should bring something. Doh. I'm not going to have time to do anything beside pick up a bottle of wine on the way there. I think she likes red. What do you like to bring: red, white, or champagne? Something else?

I know nothing about wine, so I just stick to flowers.

I don't drink wine or champagne, so I just pick whatever bottle I like the best.

I never bring wine anymore...the reason being I had lots of single random bottles of red wine that my husband and I couldn't finish on our own OR we didn't have a second bottle to serve guests. So now, I bring either prosecco or a liquor, but never wine.

Depends on the food. If there's beef - red is always good. Other foods or if she just likes sweet wine then white.

@Alivoo01: it's just a cocktail party so no real meal will be served. Thinking I'll bring something with bubbles ....
