Would you be annoyed if a friend hosted a group playdate (multiple LOs) only to find out that their LO was miserable and sick...even if he spent the entire time sleeping on couch?

Yes. That just doesn't make sense? I would cancel the playdate, no one understands having a sick child more than another parent...

It would annoy me, but then again, my son was around his 3 sick cousins at Christmas and didn't catch whatever they had.
It depends really if we have to travel, the thought of a sick child on an airplane, I just can't.

I would be pretty annoyed. I would have cancelled the play date. No sense in having more children over if your child can't partake because they are sick.

@looch: If you're still okay to play then the cousins were fine. I don't mind if kids have runny noses or have a cold. But this is like calling out for mom, lethargic, looking miserable sick.

I would be annoyed if it was the lo we came to play with. If it is an older/younger sibling then not as much. It happens that they get sick too

@Freckles: I don't know about that. One of them had a fever, the other a virus. They should have been home, but not my kids, not my call.

@looch: Oh okay, nevermind!
@maybebaby: The mom claimed that LO was no longer contagious but then later found out that he had an infection. I suppose it's moot since my LO didn't get sick but i was a bit annoyed after the fact!

Yes, I'd be pissed. My son had a playdate last week with his buddy and the next day his friend was sick, then my son got sick a few days later and has been now since Sunday. My friend has apologized so many times (not her fault though, because the day I was there her son wasn't sick) so I know she would have told me if she even thought just for a second her son was sick. I always tell people when my son is sick, so as to warn them to stay away.

I'd be upset that they didn't have the sick child in another room. I'd also be upset that they didn't notify me ahead of time so I could make the decision not to go.

I think she should have cancelled - I feel bad for her sick kid, and for all the other people who could possibly catch it.
