We had salad and burgers on the BBQ, but standing in front of the BBQ wasn't awesome. I would have preferred to just have a giant salad with feta and cranberries, and pecans!

Sounds good! We had quinoa salad - so technically, the stove was turned on for the quinoa, but that's it.

Caprese open face sammies - get a baguette, basil, fresh mozerella, tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar. I lived off of these the summer I was pregnant

Subs and potato chips, hot dogs or burgers. I usually don't have much of an appetite when it gets really hot, though.

I like pasta salads with sandwiches in the summer for dinner. I hate standing in front of the BBQ.

Pasta salad. We make our own pesto and use that instead of dressing. Add some beans and it's a complete meal.
Also - salads or even cereal if it's that miserable!

We make lots of salads. Our favorite one does involve turning on the grill, but it's worth it.

My mother makes this amazing pasta salad with tortellini and all kinds of veggies. It's very filling and something you make once and lasts for a couple days. It's my go-to meal when it gets hot.

We do Caprese sandwiches. Fresh basil, tomato and fresh mozzarella on toasted artisan bread! Easy and delish!

When I plan ahead, I love to do something like pulled barbecue chicken in my crock pot. Start that in the morning, then I come home and just have to shred it and put it on buns with a salad or cole slaw. Doesn't heat up the kitchen at all and feels summery, especially since we don't have a grill for that real summery feel.

BLTs, I buy the microwave bacon so I don't have to cook it on the stove, and it is delicious, paired with watermolon and pasta salad...MY FAVORITE summer meal!!! Otherwise we use our grill whenever the weather allows!
