I still have a hotmail account because I've been using it for a million years and I'm too lazy to reroute all of my email somewhere else. I also have a gmail account or two floating around. Side eye away!

Maybe aol is like the new vintage email account. Like the PBR of emails. It's going to become trendy again before we know it!
Didn't hotmail change their name? I assumed it was because it reminded everyone of when they had email accounts like soccerfan86@hotmail or something!
I judge anyone who doesn't just use their name in a email!

I have a yahoo email. I use gmail for professional email and yahoo is where all my sale/shipping/junk mail goes.

I have Hotmail, and I think I have a good reasoning for it. I work with Google, I have a work account and because they insist on everything being tied together I get really tired of having to login/logout every time I wanted to use my personal gmail so I just went back to using my pre-married Hotmail. in all honesty I use my work email for the majority of stuff so it's just for store coupons, some family emails, ect.

I have a live account, my work email, and a hotmail from my early 20's that I haven't logged into in over 5 years. I can't recall why I have live over gmail.

So I'm old and clueless. I have a yahoo account which I still use. Why is that so uncool and why is gmail so cool? Also, the only friends I communicate with via email are work friends and we are all old. Email didn't even exist until I was maybe a sophomore in college!
Someone enlighten me!

@ElbieKay: my ILs share an AOL account! We even signed them up for gmail and they haven't switched...when they visit we can hear the "you've got mail" when they check their email!

I'm so glad I'm not alone in this
Also I don't so much side-eye people with flip phones because I assume it is a money thing which I can't really judge for.
But I will admit that I sort of judge people who have smart phones that not iPhones. But only SORT of because I do "know" that other phones have features iPhones do not and I accept that some people could like those phones better. But... everyone I know with a non-iphone smart phone does nothing but bitch about it. Most especially my MIL/SIL who have gone through several smart phones, none of which they can ever really figure out how to use. And they're asking us questions about them and we're like... I DON'T KNOW JUST BUY AN IPHONE ALREADY.

@Mae: Oh lord, spoken like a true Apple zombie! My cousin is one of you... I don't think he was even aware that there were other (better) options out there until recently

@Mae: so are you on team apple or team android?
I found this to be very polarizing, in a light way, of course.

@Mae: so my husband is Android and I am Apple, and he constantly likes to point out what his phone can do and where Apple has shortcomings, lol.

@looch: I think perhaps the thing is that there ARE better phones than iPhones, but they take a bit more know-how to know how to use them. And so only people inclined to learn how to use them should buy them. And people who are not particularly tech savvy (ahem, MIL) should stick with phones that a monkey could use. I.e. iPhone. (not that I'm calling myself dumb as a monkey-- but I do appreciate the incredible ease of use of the apple platforms!)

@Mae: Agreed! I tried to use an android and it was just too complicated for what I needed to do.

Lol, I have hotmail! I tried to get a gmail account that somehow resembled my real name but every variation was taken. My last name is very unique so this is baffling. By I didn't want to be Name123456789012334@gmail.com just to get a gmail account haha!

Ha I still mainly use hotmail. Mostly because someone has a very similar gmail address to mine and I get her email all.the.time and I don't want my important email to accidentally go to the wrong person. I do get looks or comments sometimes but whatever. DH and I have a joint email that gets used almost as often and it's gmail...
I also have a non iPhone smartphone and it is 100% because DH abhors all apple products. He knows more about that stuff than me so I just let him pick out my phones. And I know how to use it and don't complain about it.

@looch: my husband is team android too. I'm team apple. We both used to have droids, then switched to apple, then he switched back. He loves to point out what his phone can do what mine can't, and I'm like BUT YOURS IS THE SIZE OF A PHONE BOOK.

I have a gmail account, but I definitely don't judge hotmail, yahoo, etc. If anything, I kind of respect that the user probably doesn't give a shit about jumping on the technology bandwagon.
