We typically bring a bottle of wine if they are wine drinkers. Otherwise maybe an orchid?

My favourite gifts I've received were an orchid and a cute photo frame.

I usually do some sort of plant (orchids, house plant, succulent arrangement).
But I've seen people gift laundry detergent (hard if they have a particular brand/type of waster), Home Depot gift cards, pails filled with home improvement supplies, big coffee table book, frames..

Bottle of wine?
If this is their first home coming not from their own respective places (like they lived at home or shared an apt with some people), you could put together a cleaning kit with a bottle of wine. So magic erasers with some windex, clorox wipes, toilet bowl cleaner, etc.

I recently gave some one a tray from home goods. She loves it and uses it all the time to carry stuff out to her deck or up to her bedroom (her house has like 5 sets of steps, kitchen is on the bottom level and bedroom is on the 4th). But even just taking stuff from kitchen to patio and you could throw in a bottle of wine/glasses

@Alivoo01: I love this idea. I remember how surprised I was by how expensive it wAs to get started on the essentials. Also, I would've loved lots of microfibres cloths!

I love going to Marshalls or TJ max for those sorts of things. An easy one is cute kitchen hand towel, hand soap, candel and some sort of fun seasoning. If I know my friends taste well then I would maybe do a picture frame or some sort of decor.

@Mamaof2: Depending on the couple I do:
- Booze (usually can't go wrong there)
- Plant (that is the standard, right?)
- Candle set (gatta have a nice smelling house)
If it's a really good friend, maybe all 3!
