We had six people in our family: mom, dad, and four kids (including me). Plus 1-2 dogs at all times.
So, our family was 6 humans and 7-8 mammals. That compares to 4 humans and 5 mammals now.

Just 5 in my immediate family. No pets. Tons of aunts, uncles and cousins though.

Only 3 of us. We had a rabbit for a short while but then he died.

There were 6 of us...2 parents, 4 kids, and a dog...and usually the random goldfish that didn't live much longer than a few weeks!

At my dad's there was two parents, three kids, and around ten animals at any given time. At my mom's there was two parents, three kids, and two pets.
My family currently consists of me, my husband, two dogs, and a cat.

Now we have 3 and a dog. But eventually we want at least 4 people.... maybe 5.

Four kids, two parents and no pets when we were little. Now, however, we are four kids, two parents, two guys married-in and six dogs. Oh, and some much-wished-for, yet-to-be-concieved grandchildren.

Haha. Ahem:
Initially, just five of us (mom, dad, older brother, younger sister, and me). Parents got divorced when I was about 10. Mom remarried a couple years later and I gained three stepsisters and a stepbrother. Dad remarried shortly after that and eventually they tacked on two half-brothers. So ... that's two full siblings, two half-siblings, four step siblings, a stepmother, a stepfather, a mom, and a dad!

Oh, and various felines. My dad had a couple of dogs, but we didn't live with him at the time.

There were 4 of us (mom, dad, me, younger sister) and a cat. We got the cat when I was 5 and she lived until I graduated college!

We had 4( mom, dad, sister and myself), 2 dogs, plus random other pets like fish, hamster, rabbit.

Mom, Dad, two kids (both girls). We had a crazy amount of pets though - at one point we had a horse, a llama, 3 sheep, a dog, a cat, chickens, about 30 rabbits, a pet mouse... I don't even know what else. Guinea hens.

mom is not remarried - (her, my brother and myself) -
4 people (2 parents, 2 kids). When I was born, there were 2 elderly (20+ years old!) cats and 2 elderly basset hounds, which all passed away before I was 5. Then we got an Airedale terrier, which we had until I was in high school, and got a second Airedale when I was around 13 which my parents had until he passed away two years ago. Also had various hamsters, mice, gold fish, etc. Oh yeah, we also had a chicken! And my mom has another chicken now, who is blind.

My immediate family was 5 people (parents, me, my brother and my sister). We also always had a handful of pets.
We've had 8 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs along with a few hamsters.
For now, my household is just DH and me and 1 dog.

Parents, 14 kids, raised on a farm so there were cattle and dogs. Occasionally cats also.
My husband's family had 5 and no pets.
It's just the two of us right now.

Very small. I'm an only child and my parents separated when I was about 9. They lived together again once or twice but finally divorced when I was 13. So most of the time it was just me, my mom, and our beloved lab, Sparky.

Mom, us two kids, and my mom usually had some sort of SO. We had various pets over the years, anywhere from one to 40 or 50 (we lived on a farm at one point).

It was my parents and us 4 kids. Although, my older sister is much older than me, so she was out of the picture when I was 12. So it was my parents and the 3 younger kids.
