How can u tell if the flanges are too big? It too small? I don't feel like I can tell from the pics compared to how my nipples look in there.

You'll know if the flange is too small because when you pump, your nipples will rub against the side of the flange. Too big is harder - I wasn't sure but I felt like more of my aerola was being sucked into the flange than it should and it FELT sore. So I just bought smaller flanges to try them out and they ended up being more comfortable!

I just bought a few different sizes until it felt more comfortable. Too big ones didn't drain me out all the way and I got mastitis

@Adira: I think that night be my problem. I don't know. It just seems like the past few times I've been pumping its been uncomfortable on one side.
Can my boobs need different sizes?

@singingbee: it's definitely possible that you might need two different sizes, this was the case for me...
