washing a 3 year old's hair - the bane of my existence! she freaks out and screams bloody murder! I used to use one of those bucket hair rinse thingies, but it was just the worst. I got hubby to change over the faucet on our bathtub to a new one with a diverter, and had installed a hand held shower head with a hose. It is definitely a lot easier now, as I can rinse it slowly from the back without her getting to upset, before trying to rinse the top of her head. because she has such long curly wavy hair I really need to make sure all the shampoo is cleared from behind her ears or she gets crusty cracks at the top of her ears.

Not carefully at all. I actually dip DD backwards under the faucet and run the water to rinse her hair. Water goes in her face but she doesn't care. Sometimes I'll make a big production and blot her face with a dry towel after and she cracks up laughing

Not careful. The girl is fearless about water. Last year when she was only crawling, she was fearless at spray parks--she would crawl right up and put her face in the spray. Crazy girl.

I used to try and be really careful, but DS loves the water. He often dunks his face in the water. We use Honest Company shampoo and it doesn't seem to bother him if I just dump water over his head to rinse. I usually shield his eyes with my hand a bit just so not too much soap gets in his face.

Not careful. LO doesn't really have hair but when we rinse his head he doesn't mind and laughs usually.

I just dump water over her head a few times while toussling her hair to get rid of all the soap. She hates it but knows if she just closes her eyes and her mouth and sits through it, it passes quickly. Or I'll make a game of it with the shower spray. Either way, the more she squirms the harder it is to quickly wash the soap so she's pretty good about sitting still now.
