My twins are 26.5 and 27.5 inches tall and my keyfit car seats have a max height of 30 inches. I thought about switching to convertible car seat since they were hating the car seat but we were on vacation last week and they hated the convertible seats we used. Yesterday, they had no issues being put in the infant car seat. Maybe they'll be in the infant car seat for a little while. We don't mind carrying them in and out of the car.

We switched at 9 months. She's not heavy, but I hated carrying her and the car seat.

Also switched at 9/10 months for the same reason as @avivoca: . Plus if I just kept the seat in the base it was harder to strap her in than in a bigger/wider convertible.

We're getting close. She's 6 months, 20# and 29+". I should switch her soon but it's going to be hard carrying two babies to the car so I'm putting it off.

I kept my kids in the capsule seat until about 18 months. I didn't see any need to move the seat in and out of the car, I just took the girls out the way I would if it were a convertible seat.

We just switched at 8 months and it's awesome! So much easier to get him in and out and he is much happier in the car now. He's 22# and about 29"

We switched by 8-9 months, not b/c she outgrew it but she was unhappy in it!

I have a 9 month old and he's been in a convertible since six months. He's currently 23+ pounds and almost 32 inches, so I couldn't imagine him in an infant right now.

I switched her right around 8 months. She's about 29 inches so she could still fit in the infant seat. She's much happier in the convertible though.
