I hope close! LO is the first on both sides, but my SIL is trying to get pregnant now and hopefully with be successful and LO with have a cousin around a year younger than her. My husband is super close with a lot of his cousins and I think it is so sweet. I hope LO has the same experience.

none of our siblings are anywhere NEAR having a baby and ours is already 1.

I don't know. We see his McK cousins a few times a year, but the closest in age to him is still 6 years older, and the closest live 2 hour away. Hopefully that will be an easier age gap when they're adults. Of the four of them, one completely adores E, though.
I don't think he'll be close to any on my side. I have two step-nieces that live pretty close, but the younger is 7 years older than him and the older 12 years. He has a cousin two months younger than him, but him and his siblings live a 14 hour drive away, and he hasn't even met any of them yet.

I suspect IF they end up having cousins that there will be a significant age difference so they might not be close. I know my brother plans on possibly adopting so it's hard to know for sure what age they will be. I'm hoping they might be close to our cousins kids (does that make them second cousins?) I was close with my cousins growing up. I want them to have that.

they are very close to their first cousins on my side. We live next door to each other and the kids see each other everyday.

Too early to tell. We have a niece (8) and nephew (11) that live in our town and we see them frequently, but the age difference may mean she is not close to them. Her other 4 cousins live an hour and a half away but she hasn't met any of them yet because of drama llamas. She is actually much closer in age to her 2nd cousins, who only live about 2 hrs away.
Neither of my siblings have kids yet, but I like to think they will be close!!
