we still have a long ways to go, since I'm only 11 weeks- but I'm wondering (ok, worried) about how my hubby is going to do with not being able to have sex for 6 weeks.
My hubby is a great guy- but seriously, when he doesn't "get any" for a week-- he morphs into some kind of alternate human being-- I'm honestly not sure how the heck to handle the guy after 6 weeks!
Anyone else's hubby get like this? how did the six weeks work out for you?

Honestly, you are both going to be so exhausted he might not even notice? It wasn't at the top of our list, priority-wise, but then again everyone is different.

Another reality check here: You may not be DTD right up until delivery either. So it might be way longer than 6 weeks.
He'll deal, especially once he sees you give birth. There are plenty of other sexual activities you can enjoy that aren't actual intercourse. We did those things instead

one can only hope! I don't think it's a priority- it's just something I was thinking about
I almost forgot about other things- I'll just tell him it'll be like being "young again"-- when you didn't just have sex right off

Truthfully it wasn't a big deal. You're so busy and tired dealing with something that is a complete mystery and only sleeps in 2 hour increments (and that's if you're lucky!)
Although I will say that a lot of snuggling and affection & kissing works wonders.

My poor DH had to wait over 3 months!
There were one or two times in the first 6 weeks that one or both of us had an interest, but honestly we were both so wrapped up in DS and so exhausted that it passed quickly (me more than him). Neither of us had any issue with him handling it himself, so to speak

My husband is like that too. Although he didnt pressure me to have sex early postpartum, we DTD about 3 weeks after delivery. I had a csection though.

Um yes expect it to be longer than 6 weeks. DH got super freaked out by the whole thing once he knew the baby could hear us and he could see kicking/limbs/rolling - there's a person in there! So it's gonna be a while. You'll both manage.

I would say DH definitely wanted it in the first few weeks but we just did other stuff or he handled it himself. I'm 5 months pp and still don't have my sex drive back

Hmmmm I was given the go ahead as soon as I felt ready, so long as we used condoms...... We resumed bi-weekly at 2 weeks pp. tehe.

I think the biggest problem, again TMI probably, but my hubby doesn't handle it himself... he never has? No joke-- he just can't... I suppose I should be happy about that part- but it def. puts all the pressure on me haha

This was sooo not on my list of priorities for the first 6 wks!! When I was in bed I wanted to be sleeping, and dh was very understanding of that. I would hope your dh would be too?

My DH wishes he only had to wait 6 weeks! I wasn't comfortable even trying until around 14 weeks pp and then it was only like once a month until DS weaned at 10 months. We also stopped having sex when I was around 6 or 7 months pregnant.

Before DS was born and all the way until the end, my husband and I had a very active sex life. After DS arrived it was totally different. Honestly, I was too tired and way too emotional to want to jump back in bed. The first time my husband tried to initiate after we had the all clear, I burst into years. Give yourself time to adjust, I was unprepared for just how emotional I would be and how wrapped up I would be in taking care of DS.

I don't think this is an issue in the real world, you will be so mentally drained that even showering seems like work, sex will be the last thing from either of your minds. AND we went from 9 weeks until postpartum 7 weeks because of a cyst, it is doable. After he sees you go through labor I think priorities change, at least I hope they do!

Definitely not an issue.. DH went way longer than 6 weeks... We were worried about getting through the pregnancy without pre term labor... And PP, it's definitely not on your mind..
