DH popped the question at dinner atop the Stratosphere hotel in Las Vegas! It was fantastic.

My DH proposed over dinner while we were on vacation at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. He had the waiter bring the ring in it's box over on a silver plate instead of my meal lol!

I knew it was coming, down to the day. I didn't know what his actual plans, were, though.
DH took me to Longwood Gardens and proposed on a trail in the woods. Afterwards we drove down to DC and had a nice lunch and then watched the Fourth of July fireworks on the National Mall.

Hubs proposed to me in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico on the deck of our suite while we were on a cruise. It was pretty funny because we were on the front of the ship so the Captain and everyone else on the bridge watched it happen so they were waving and giving us the thumbs up. I was kind of annoyed they didn't send down a bottle of champagne! : )

We were on our first vacation together at the beach. The second night he told me he had booked a photo session with a friend I had mentioned was a photographer there. I didn't think much of it except that it was a really sweet thing to do... The photo shoot ended up being engagement pics since he proposed right before! It was the sweetest thing ever!

My DH proposed on my 20th birthday. We went out to dinner, and he was a little peeved that I picked a casual BBQ place instead of something fancier, but it was my birthday and that's what I wanted. Then we went to the lake and he proposed by the dam where you could see the waterfall. It was awesome.

Haha we were in our apartment on Christmas Eve. This was not how he planned to do it, but a few days prior a guy at the credit union ruined the surprise! So, then I knew he had the ring so DH figured he would just do it. I'm pretty bummed about that, but it's ok...

We were at our condo and had just gotten back from vacation. He wanted to take me out to a fancy dinner and then propose afterwards, but I ruined that by making plans to go to my brother's for a BBQ. So he did it right then and there. We still call it the "scene of the crime." :o)

We were going through our final walk through the night before closing on our first home/moving in together!
The master bedroom was the last room we checked and he got down and did the whole shabang and had our real estate agent tape it for us... I didn't expect it at all that night even though I knew it was coming (we'd talked about it all summer). I was scrubbed out in a tee and ripped jeans...while he had on a white button down and nice jeans-- didn't even cross my mind, because i was so engulfed with all things HOUSE

He proposed at a nice restaurant on the shores of Lake Otsego near Cooperstown. He was acting really weird the whole dinner/night until he got down on his knee right as we were about to leave. I had no idea it was coming!

I nearly ruined it, lol. We were on a beach trip, and had some drinks at the bar. I really had to pee, and it was getting cold, so I kept whining about wanting to go back to the hotel. He wouldn't let me and I got even more annoyed. Finally we got up and started walking but NOT walking home and I was starting to get mad. Finally, he said "damnit, I'm trying to propose, just wait 5 more minutes." Whoops. Then he said nice things and I forgot about being cold and having to pee, and actually enjoyed the beautiful night

My husband took me back to the bar where we first met (lol). Luckily, it has a really nice outdoor patio with a view of downtown, and christmas lights everywhere, so he said we should take our drinks outside and then he got down on one knee and did it! I was actually pretty shocked.
Then, he'd arranged for a limo to pick us up there (sneaky boy picked me up like he usually does in his car, which he left parked at the bar) and whisked me off to dinner at the Ritz Carlton...then had my friends meet us back at the bar after dinner for drinks.
It was a pretty amazing night!

DH made me dinner one night at his mom's house (we both lived with our parents at the time) and I came over dinner was ready and the table was set. He barely ate a thing all dinner (which is crazy because my hubby is a BIG eater!!) after dinner, he excused himself to the bathroom (where my ring was hidden) and then he came out and was down on 1 knee!

He sent me on a scavenger hunt around the city. It ended at my mom's where he was waiting. A friend went around with me and filmed the entire thing!

Ahahaha, no romantic story here. We had only been dating a few months and got back from a friend's baby's christening. He must have had too many sips of the Ethiopian honey wine because I think he was drunk! On our way back out he started rambling about us and I was like, can we go now, what is this? And then in the middle of it he asked if I would marry him...no one knee, no ring! I wasn't even sure if he was proposing so I didn't know what to say. It would have been so embarrassing if he wasn't and I said yes!

We just came in from being outside in the "snow" and I was getting a cup of bird seed for the feeder. I walked back to the door and he said to me, "Come over here a sec, I think something is on the dog..." And he proposed. It was glamorous. We went out to eat that night.

DH did it the weekend he graduated from Basic Training. We were just saying goodbye after the weekend I spent in San Antonio, he was all dressed up in his dress blues, we had no idea when the next time we would see each other would be, and he just did it.
It was really sweet.

He proposed in my apt - we had left to go to dinner and he told me he forgot his wallet, so he went back to get it. I came in to help him find it and was greeted with candles and roses everywhere! Afterwards, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and had dinner at Grimaldi's.

We were riding up to the top of the mountain for the last run of the day. At the top of the mountain, then-bf called me over to take a picture with him, but requested I take off my gloves for the picture. Weird request as I responded, "It's cold babe, I'm keeping my gloves on!!" He calmly responds, "Take them off, hunny." My brother follows in suit with attitude, "Just take it off, Alice!" Wide eyed , I reluctantly complied and removed my gloves for the picture. As we posed ourselves and smiled for the picture, he whispers, "You know I love you with all my heart, right baby?" I naturally responded with a smile plastered to my face for the picture my brother was taking forever to take, "Of course, baby. I love you too!" My brother hadn't lowered the camera yet to signal the picture was taken, when he was moving away from me. Confused, I assumed we were down taking pictures and were grabbing our gear to head down the mountain, when he reached for my left hand, got down on one knee, and presented the ring. Sadly, it took me a good few seconds to realize what was going on... When the situation became obvious, he was proposing!

I had just returned from my first ever business trip and he took me out to dinner as an early b-day celebration. He picked one of the nicest restaurants in town that we'd been meaning to go to forever and then we went for a drive to our favorite park (I still had no idea at this point if you can believe it...). He proposed on a bench in the park's garden that overlooked the city.
@MRSJYW: Reminds me of the Parks & Rec proposal!

We were on vacation in Cape Cod and he proposed in our condo on our last night there, right before we went out to dinner. We'd been talking about life and the future and he started breathing really heavily and just looked...odd...then said he had to go get something...I asked if he was sick and if he was going to puke because he was acting so weird!!! Hahaha. He came back with the ring and proposed...he was shaking so badly the entire time. So I thought he was going to puke, he asked me to marry him. Poor guy.

@Smurfette: Yep, that's pretty much what happened. We had both said before that day that it was something we both wanted. So, it wasn't a completely new idea, we just decided to actually do it that day, lol.

We had flown into Texas to take a cruise the next day. The night before we went out to dinner and to a local amusement/boardwalk kind of place. He proposed on the Ferris Wheel. He said he couldn't walk around any more with the ring in his pocket, lol.

DH proposed at home the morning of Christmas Eve :). I knew it was coming but didn't know when -- DH had called my dad a couple of weeks before Christmas to ask of he could come over to ask permission and get my mom's ring, and he left him a voicemail, and then my dad called ME instead because he was worried about why DH had caked him -- he thought something was wrong! I said nothing was wrong, he said oh ok, ask him why he called. And I was like, dad, why don't you just call him back lol. Then a few days later I saw a parking pass from my dad's condo in DH's car haha.

It was his birthday and I had just bought him a dinner at a place we love in a strip mall. He wanted to go look at the store front across the parking lot, so we walked over (now I realize how lame this was - the shops were all closed!) As we were walking back to the car he said, "Hey what's that?" and pointed to a bush. I didn't see anything but was excited, because he always finds cool stuff randomly. He bent down to pick it up and came back up with a ring. I said, "Did you really just find that?!" He said, "No." Then I said, "Are you going to ask me?" And he did. And I said yes.
It was literally the perfect proposal. I am extremely gullible, my husband loves to tell people he proposed in a strip mall parking lot after *I* bought *him* dinner, and I wasn't expecting it at all. We flew to Belize for a vacation the next day and I had been certain he'd do it there!

DH proposed on the 4th of July under the fireworks. We were at his family's cookout and he took me around the side of the house and got down on one knee. I was happy about that because I did NOT want him to ask in front of a lot of people!

We had my Step Daughter for the weekend and it was right around Easter. We werent going to have her for Easter so we did an early easter thing and had an Easter egg hunt for her.
Outside watching her find all her eggs (that I hid) I noticed an egg I did not place. It was large and green (my favorite color, so thoughtful) It had my name on the outside of the egg. I went over and got it, opened it up and next thing I know he is on his knee.

We had an all-day date. We went bungee jumping, clothes shopping, lunch, and then he suggested I get a manicure. After that we went to a lake boardwalk where he previously had my aunt and grandma set up this whole thing (table on the dock with candles, flowers, sparkling juice, strawberries) and he proposed there. The tablecloth on the little table was something he brought from Albania, and we used it at our wedding for our sweetheart table and we now use it for our anniversary dinners.

I still had a month left of college before graduating so I didn't expect a proposal any time soon. DH recreated our first date but without being too obvious. I was pooped with school and general stress that I needed a break from everything. Sushi and a walk in Old New Castle was exactly what I needed. He proposed while we were on the dock.

We were celebrating our one year anniversary, we went to my favorite resteraunt, and then he suggested we walk through these gardens (so not a DH thing to suggest) so I knew something was up, and I waited and waited and nothing. Then he suggested walking around the park by our house, again awkward and waiting and nothing.
We went home and I thought I was imagining things, I laid on the couch and he was like don't lay down, and I was like I have too I'm so full and have a food coma and he stomped off to the bedroom. Then he called me in there & I saw him through the door on one knee...he was too nervous to do it in a public place! haha it was cute

He popped the question at the Grand Canyon. Our friends & my sister were there and everyone knew about it. I had no clue. Then we were engaged for several years (um, we got engaged in May '04) before we finally got married in December '12. We intended to have a longer engagement, it just, uh, took a bit longer than we expected or planned on LOL
