Just curious how some families decide to foster.
Friends of ours shared that they were at fostering fair on Valentine's Day. I think they have been TTC for a while and have decided to adopt.

We decided to foster after adopting our son via domestic private adoption. We knew we wanted to adopt again, but we couldn't afford to do another private adoption, so fostering seemed like a good fit for us! We're hoping if we stick with it long enough, an opportunity will arise for an adoption. A lot of the families we've met through our foster care agency are couples wanting to build a family, but unable to afford the costs of private or international adoption!

My sister did a foster to adopt after struggling with infertility. Foster agencies encourage families to foster (because that is what they need), but my sis only agreed to work with legally free infants who had already gone through termination of parental rights. Her daughter was placed with her at age 6 weeks after a several month wait for a placement. It worked for my sister very well, but it helped that she was willing to take mild special needs.
