I've lost all but the last 12-ish of my pregnancy pounds (gained 37 in total). I'm now 3.5 months postpartum and I've been stuck at this point for about 2 months now.
How did you lose the last bit of weight?

Oh dear. I haven't been pregnant yet, but I gained 40 lbs in the Army (change in diet for the first 20, then a no-exercise-whatsoever profile for the second.) I've lost 18 since August. Still hoping to lose more before pregnancy, though that may not happen... I'm eager to hear others' input too!

Some women will hold onto the last few lbs if they're still breastfeeding (while yes, it can also make you shed 90% of it without doing anything!).

i gained 45 with charlie, and it took me 5 months to lose all the weight. i was super lucky and didn't diet or exercise at all.
i've heard that your body holds onto that last 10-15 pounds while you're nursing because your body needs the extra fat. a lot of women can't lose that last bit of weight until they wean.
that wasn't true for me (i weaned at 9 months because i had to... long story), and hopefully it isn't true for you either!

Interesting idea of holding onto the pounds because of the body needing the fat. Hmmm...I feel better.

I'm not sure where I'm at. The scale at the dr.'s office 2 weeks ago had me 7lbs away, the wii fit said 2lbs away 2 days ago. I don't feel any different, the nasty pooch is still there and saggy
It hurts to do sit-ups and I'm exhausted still. 1 month post partum.

Well I'm not breastfeeding anymore so that's no excuse for me I diet and walk a lot with the baby. It's. Coming off... just very very very very slowly.

I don't remember how long it took but eventually it came off without me doing anything. I am still 2 lbs heavier but all my clothes fit so I don't worry about it.

I did the Abs Diet. Since there's no calorie counting, I felt comfortable doing while breastfeeding. I was slightly overweight when I got pregnant, gained 35 pounds, lost that weight within six weeks of giving birth, and then wanted to get down to my usual weight (since I was the biggest I'd ever been when I got pregnant.) So I did the Abs Diet for around six months and lost 25 more pounds. It kept me eating healthy foods and eating often, which I think helped a lot for breastfeeding and milk production, and I also lost weight, so that was a bonus. I also lost it slowly enough that it felt right and I didn't worry about my body releasing toxins or any of that.

I've gained 30 lbs with my first pregnancy and was never able to lose the last 5 lbs. (So annoying)
But counting calories definitely helped me lose over 15 lbs.
This time around, Im 14 weeks pregnant and haven't gained 1 lbs (where with my first i had gained 4) maybe this will make things equal and I will have less to lose. Who knows.

Getting back to the gym is the only way that I will see the #'s come off. Plus I feel great when I get home and ready to take care of the baby again

Im depressed, I gained about 30 lbs and lost basically all of it within a month or 2 but then I went on bc and gained ALL of it back over the last 2 years I have eaten better and excercised more than ever and it won't go away...

Try Jilian's 30 day Shred! I lost 7 pounds in 30 days! Took a week off and going to start it up again! 3 pounds left until I get to my first post pregnancy weigh in.. 10 pounds to go before I get to pre-baby!

After DD #1 the last 15 lbs came off by running... I did the Couch to 5K program starting around month 4 (when I weaned with her).
With DD #2, I'm 4 months pp again and still up 15 lbs like you... but this time I'm not running so much... I'm much busier with the two kids and still breastfeeding too (i get hungry alot which doesn't help either). I might start doing Jillian's 30day shred since I can do it in the living room as opposed to leaving to run. I did some of it right before getting pg the 2nd time... It's a good workout!!

I used the My Fitness Pal ap on my iPhone. It has a feature that you can scan the barcode on food and it will automatically download all of the nutrition info. I have very little time to exercise so tracking my food intake was key.

I forgot to mention, I downloaded the Lose It app on my iphone and used it on the web too. It really helped me out with counting calories and tracking my weight loss.
Good luck.

I lost all my pre-preg weight by 2 months, and then proceeded to gain back 10 lbs. Pisses me off to no end. I think I was too tired to eat at first, and we were nursing all the time, and then when I went back to work it was just easier to pick up high-calorie meals when out and about than to pack healthy stuff at home. I'm finally trying to eat better and start exercising, but I feel guilty about it- like every hour that I spend at the gym is time that I could be spending with my kid, who I barely see during the workday anyways

With Claire I gained 50 lbs...and I lost it all in 3.5 months without trying. I know that this isn't the answer you're looking for, but I honestly believe it was a combination of good genes and the fact that she was such a high-maintenance, colicky baby (I was so stressed and sleep-deprived that I didn't have the time to eat, or I just lost all appetite). Definitely not the best way to lose the weight, but that's what happened with me!

@geekinheels: UGH, not fair!!! Totally not the answer I was looking for! LO, I've learned, was/is colicky and like you, I was stressed and sleep-deprived and never ate...BUT, the last 12lbs isn't budging! Heh heh.
