I feel SO bad that I am constantly losing patience with my toddler. I constantly have to repeat 5 times whatever I am telling him, and he is seemingly incapable of reading me or even understanding when I tell him, "I'm not playing around. Stop it and come brush your teeth." (He's almost 3.)
When he laughs and jumps around more, instead of making me laugh, steam starts coming out my ears. Yelling happens. Nothing gets through unless he either hurts himself while he's monkeying around or I give him a time out.
After a full day of work, I come home excited to see my kids but I end up so exhausted and annoyed by the time I get him in bed.
HELP! What can I do to control my reactions? More and more I notice I am defaulting straight to annoyed. He is such a sweet kid and deserves better.
