What are some ideas to get my child's around other children his age, when I live in the country, and don't know any children his age lol. Seriously though how do I go about finding group type setting, like classes? I don't even know how's to begin but I feel like my DS could use some child to child's interaction.

Library story hour, Hike it Baby, MOPS, swim lessons.
How far are you from a largish city- like 25k or more people?

@youboots: I'm 45mins from a city with 27k and we go there regularly. Swimming lessons! I dont know why I didnt think of that especialy since he loves water! What is hike it baby and mops? I'm not familiar with those?

Does your city host any playgroups ? Where I live there are early learning centre that host free play groups that have circle time as well. Maybe google if anything like that exists.

@youboots: and, the closest group is 45 mins away at 9am
the next closest being an hour and a half away. Sounds like a great organization though.

Maybe look for a music class? LO is at home with me or DH or my mom so I wanted to get him around other kids some. Our favorite activity is Kindermusik class. He's been going since around 16 months and is about to turn 3. It's really fun to see everything he has learned.

Does your town/county have a parks and recreation department? I'd start with that and your local library. I've found out about a lot of activities and classes that we do through other moms so once you find one activity hopefully it will open the doors to others!

@Jackiedavis87: do you have a YMCA near you? My LO is the only one enrolled as a member in our family so that we can do swimming lessons & toddler gym. She loves it & it's under $40/mo. There are activities there she could do every day, but we usually go 3x/wk.

Little Gym or Gymboree! My library does guitar Storytime which is also a big hit.

Park district is a big one here. Library story time. I've also met some moms (and gotten good info about my village) through several local Facebook groups.

@Anya: we do have a Rec center and I called and found out a class time for swimming classes for his age group, it's not until June that they have it, but I'm still excited about it!
@danda: @macintosh: I found the story time times for 2 Libraries in the area, so we're going to check those out!
@danda: guitar story time sounds awesome!I did find a moms group in the area through meetup.com and they have an activity planed for this comeing Wednesday. P and I are going to go check it out and see if we like it. Thanks again ladies!

Does your town or the city near you have a parents' Facebook page? Or even a regular neighbors' page? I found out about a wonderful program in my state that has been so great for both myself and my son from my neighborhood's Facebook page. I would have never found out about it if I didn't see it on that page. They also post about play dates and free toddler activities in my nieghborhood.

In town, what if you looked for a church playgroup? I think it is important to try and find things close to you, maybe reach out to the school district too?

YMCA: usually has swimming & gymnastics & karate along with other activities.
Our local rec center which is attached to our library has quarterly activities for all different age ranges. We usually do soccer/tball/music classes & gymnastics through them.
Gymnastics studios - google for one near you, there are also chain places like "The Little Gym" that does classes... usually during the week though.
Our library does a lot, most of it is during the week day so we cannot go, but they do Thursday night storytime that I always bring my kids too - i see the same people each week there so it's nice! I got on a mailing list through the library for the kids stuff.
Local mom groups... look on Facebook... I follow a local Mommy Poppins for activities - see if you have that...
Local Nature and Preservation land societies have memberships and they have tons of activities and classes for kids.
And finally local gyms... we do swimming classes through them, didn't love the YMCA classes near us, and sometimes they have other kid classes.
