My son is almost 7 months old and sleeps from 6 pm until 4:30 am. He used to sleep until 5:00 or 5:30 am. Any suggestions on getting back to the later wake up time?

Do you feed him at 4:30? I would delay feeding him until 5:30 and maybe he will learn to sleep that extra hour. That is what I did with my daughter when she used to wake up at 5 am and I wanted her sleep until 6 am.

that's a very common problem and charlie woke up around 5:30 for a long time too... sometimes 4:30 so i feel your pain! one thing that definitely works is crying out the morning wake up. we never did it, but have many friends that did successfully.
maybe you could try even moving bedtime up to 5:30. you already have an early bedtime, but sometimes even 30 minutes makes a difference and your lo might sleep from 5:30-5:30 (hopefully!).
do you have black out shades? white noise?

Put him to bed at 6:30-7:00? Not responding until preferred wake up time seems logical too. Also shorter naps during the day? My brother was a 10 PM to 10 AM baby. I was a 2 AM to 6 AM baby and I'd put myself down for naps any time I was sleepy.

It is dark when he goes to bed so the room is really dark and we do use a white noise machine.
Over the weekend we tried putting him to bed 30 minutes later and he still woke up at the same time.
Maybe we will have to try an earlier bedtime and see what happens.
Thanks!

@williamsh2: later bedtimes never worked for us. charlie still woke up at the same time. earlier bedtimes do seem to do the trick for a lot of people though.
eventually most babies do grow out of it. charlie did start waking up later and later and now he can sleep anywhere from 11-13 hours a night.
