I am getting one to help in the crib transition. LO is just 2 1/2 months, but almost 16lbs, long for his age and wearing 6 month clothes.... Should I get the small 3-6 months that goes up to 18lbs? Or the large that goes from 18lbs to 21lbs.
ETA: I can't get both and return one since I am getting it used on a BST site.

I would get the 6-9 size if your LO is already in 6 month clothes.

If he's long I'd go with the bigger one. If his arms/legs are sticking out so much it might not work as well to supress the reflex.

Get the larger one. My LO outgrew the small at around 14 pounds because she was too tall for it.

I agree, get the larger one. We never needed the larger one but DD is much smaller than your LO.

@ladybee: We are just about to transition out of the sleep suit and into a sleep sack or zipadeezip. No issues here.

@ladybee: That I don't know about. I think that they naturally lose that reflex of throwing the arms out as they get older so I thought that it wouldn't be bad... I just want to try it because he is a baby that really wants to be snuggled to sleep. He does great in a rock and play or held or in a swing or car seat but in the crib....nope. And he wants his arms out and freaks out in the swaddle now. Plus day care won't let them have a swaddle but they can have the merlin suit.

@travellingbee: hm maybe we will try it. He's in the RNP now and sleeps great but wakes up immediately when placed in the crib. Then I get out the wine and put him in the RNP.

@ladybee: Yeah, same. He sleeps through the night 75% of the time in the RNP and does long naps in the RNP or Swing but as soon as I put him in the crib- eyes wide open.

@travellingbee: C isn't even two months yet but he does a 5 hour stretch and one 3 hour stretch. I'm not complaining, it's great but I miss sleep.

I agree to go with the larger size - we used the small for LO when she was about 10 lbs, and it fit her perfectly. As for transitioning out - we decided to try not using it after she began to try to roll it it, around 5 mos old. It went perfectly well from the first time and we never looked back!
