I stopped decorating for Fall a few years ago, but now I want to get back into it. Trouble is, I have zero decorations and have to start over from scratch, so I need ideas!
What decorations do you put in your house for Fall?

I have some pumpkins, fall colored and scented candles, hand towels, soap dispensers, and a couple of figurines of ghosts and crows. I don't have a lot of stuff. I buy two or three things each year and add to my collection.

We have mercury glass that I put out (candleholders) and mercury glass pumpkins (that only stay out until Thanksgiving) I also have a collection of cute candles from bath and body Works and yankee candle that look cute on their own. I've got apothecary jars that I fill with pine cones (that work through winter!) and my dining table is set with fall leave placemats.

I usually hit up the sales at Joann Fabric (my plan for today), they have nice decorations. Not really sure what I'm going to do for this year, a wreath, maybe hang some black paper bats, make some metal spider webs- I'm so excited that C will notice this year!

@lemondrop: I love Joann's for holiday decor!
Also, if you have the app you can use the coupons on it. There are always huge markdowns there!

@wahine08: yes! love their coupons!
I've got a bunch of Pinterest ideas to get started on- I found really large acorns on our last trip, so I'm maybe painting them and putting them in Apothecary jars like @wahine08: suggested (out of C's reach!)

We have a wreath on the front door and mums in pots. Will get pumpkins once we go to the pumpkin patch. Then inside I have mini pumpkins and gourds on the mantle. Still want to make a fall burlap banner to hang as well. Then I made these candy corn decorations. Then some misc candles. Not much. I need more now that we have a house. But going to wait and look for stuff when it goes on more sale. I want some hand towels for the guest bath, kitchen, etc.

@Smurfette: I was totally going to do mini pumpkins and gourds until we went to my parents house- within 30 seconds of walking in the door, C picked up both of my mom's mini pumpkins, yelled, "BALL" and threw them across the room and smashed them. I laughed so hard I about peed myself. My mom ended up making pie way early
A whole new level of difficulty this year! A friend of mine does a Halloween village each year, she said she usually worries over placement and aesthetics, this year she's just worried about keeping it out of her daughter's reach!

@lemondrop: LOL!! Do you have a mantel? C can't be tall enough to reach that.

@Smurfette: Love your candy corns! We have a bookshelf I may use. As for the mantel, wah, wah- it's just a very low brick ledge and has a step up to it he just discovered, he can totally reach #toddlerproblems
I'm definitely learning we need some higher shelves! I want to install a real wood mantel above it, but probably not until Christmas.
I tell him and the pets everyday that they are why we can't have nice things!
